Ok, so who dares wins the WBoD?

It's about as aesthetically pleasing as a refinery.

This could be remedied* by concealing it with a Trotter's van body, but that in turn would offer some rudimentary protection from the elements, which in turn would do away with a desired attribute of a winning WBoD.

It's fundamentally shite though, I give you that.

If only there was a thread for this sort of thing!

So, on Christmas eve, I found myself in London Euston having had no trouble getting south for the winter (read: parents for christmas...)... only to discover I couldn't get north as far as the home counties for another couple of hours. A pint in the pub and some eBay later discovered that within 1/2 hour train ride was a stupid mobile of epic proportions, but not really at Shite prices. So on a whim I made a call, and ended up 3/4 of an hour later in Essex at a garage that 'tarts up' (yep, thats accurate, the spray wielder needs to be shot there....) E-Types, and was 'looking after' this stupid mobile for the chap selling it.

The chap selling it had put it up on eBay several times with the photos from when *he* bought it, and had had umpteen people come to see it, and walked away, despite having bid 4k + on it.

Anyway, with a lot of negotiation and going over every clunk, knock, rattle, missing trim clip etc etc, I kind of sucked it up a 2.6k.

Thats not autoshite money, but for what it is.... I thought I'd combine two shite purchases into one and save up a bit longer ;-)

Anyway. a Daimler Super V8 LWB with all the trimmings is now in the garage. holy cow.

Feel free to mock at will...

Whack out = "hello Mr Daimler, have you met my friend the 'persuadatron' (4 lb hammer...) oh I see you two are on the best of terms already" *whack whack wow whack*

Entirely btw, that Warp 3 waftbarge deserves its own thread and an entry in the fastest shite thread.

For the record:

You are the clear winner of this season's WBoD award and percussive maintenance rulz.

Would I be correct in saying that those Daimlers are just an XJR but with some more prime ministerial trim and even more luxury fitted?

Awesome either way.

WRT XJR++ heritage of the Daimler Super V8 - definitely, but with vastly more stupid suspension and squidgy bits like the massaging heated rear seats....

Dodged a bullet on the engine - its a proper Iron liner version, not nikasil....

Don't forget to mention that it has a huffer that takes care of the Stoichiometry, so Warp 3 can be reached.

The faint @ OMGMPG, please look away now, but the more fuel and air you can get into an internal combustion engine, the more POWAH comes out of it. Performance just isn't created with warm water, end of. That simple PHAKT is the essential thing those airbags on Pissonhat have yet to learn.

Top fuel dragster wisdom:

If much is good, more is better. And too much is still not enough.

Shall I reveal the secrets of Stockcar wisdom now?

Ok, I am stoopid like, but what is a WBoD?

Unless it is a load of metal tubes slung together of course...
