a perfect winter driver

You may remember I felt the need for a v8 a couple of months back so I bought this

The idea being to do some work to it over the last couple of months (it needed a bit), enjoy a few lanes and then sell it during the snokaos for hopefully a small profit to allow me to buy something else.

Well Mrs Barmatt managed to shatter her leg on the 1st of November and has been laid up since so I've been feckin busy working, doing domestic stuff and ferrying her to the hospital and back, thus neglecting the RRC.

With mot looming in a month and the festive season about to occupy my every waking moment this plan had to be rethunk. So I see a certain jalopy on the bay that I've always hankered for, the trader said he might be up for a deal and it was local to me, hhhmmm turns out the dealer has a customer looking for an RRC aswell. (kismet me thinks).

Anyway after very little negotiating a deal was struck with both parties happy and I'm off to collect this tomorrow night

2 previous owners, 12 months mot (as of today) and a lovely stainless exhaust :D

I mean, what is better to drive in the winter than a 3l rwd auto?????

I think I might name this '50 shades of beige'.

I'll post proper pics after collection.

This is flipping ace!

With people now starting to buy really sensible* WBoDs, I see my chances of winning this year's WBotY trophy diminishing more and more.

You bastard, you beat me to it, that looks ace btw ... I'll be down shortly for a borrow of the Scimiatar :D

I'm starting to feel like a right softy. I've got a 2CV, a Land Rover and a Daihatsu which is on winter tyres. I R RONG!

Perfect choice! My plans for winter transport this year involve leaving the Land Rover on a SORN and lowering my Capri more.

What needs doing to the RRC? If you're too busy do you want me to come and nick it and drop it off with Tim?

That would be great if you could bro. I'm off tomorrow but have got shitloads to do and that's it then till xmas day :-(

It needs 1 body mount welding and I think one of the swivel balls is leaking a little other than that it should be ok for him to mot after those are done.

That's a shame, that's a nice looking Scim ('my dad had one of those' etc). With comparatively uncommon wheels too!

Princess Anne sold 350 cars a week you know...

It is lesser known that Reliant sold 350 Princess Anne's a week, but most have been eaten up by the ginworm.
