POW! Batman takes the Metro

I've just stumbled across this article in a 1987 issue of Motor magazine, I can't recall the advert personally but shipping three Metros out to the US of A seems like money well spent...

That's the stupidest thing I've read all day.  Adam West, mayor of Quahog, advertising the Metro to the American people, however, does seem somewhat plausible.

I used to think it was a great advert. In 1987 or thereabouts Batman had something of a renaissance. ITV aired the old Batman TV series as the TVam camerapeople went on strike (iirc). And the Batman film franchise began around that time too.
