^ It nearly happened yesterday.  Twice...

Yay! Chaseracer is last! Balance is restored.

Git...  :D

I carefully avoided all Mercedes too...

I must attend. I have a fetish I must fulfil and that is to own a multipla

Posted

All Mercedes? Plural?

Tell me more...

Don't get too excited, Rich - a dubious W210 diesel and a nasty A160 (with a towbar!) that just scraped over 300 sheets...  ;)

Cannot be raised beyond the status of merely interesting until someone buys one of these things. Get with the programme folks.

Can't really be arsed with doing stuff just to please others. Just go for the breakfast and to talk shite.

I've got to say that yesterday was the first time that I'd been to Cannock when nothing would have tempted money from my wallet even had I the time and space to deal with it.

Possibly the sweetest car there was a bright red 05 plate Suzuki Alto that went for £575

The Ford ST24 looked like it would be fun for a month then need to be dragged off for scrap

The TF was hanging. In fact, many of the cars just have a massive amount of bodywork damage, ripped interiors.... Which is why they're cheap, but it also makes them look royally kippered. The MG ZR still had kids toys and mouldy food in.

I do wonder if the Grand Vitara was "the one" for me. 4x4 soft top is perfect. But I set my £500 limit and it went over.

Sounds like a good crack, I'd have been towing that oddessy off for much gearbox rapeage though V6 versions are import only I think.

Please don't tell me it was a manual....

The Odyssey was Jap spec, 3 litre V6 auto with a dark green velour interior. It was also apparently 4wd. It looked good from one side, but had a nasty scrape on the other filled and blown in very badly. It was white and chrome, proper turn of the century Dubai minicab style.

The 607 was truly minging, I was amazed it made £550. 2 litre HDI diesel, various small dents, p/s sill constructed mainly of filler due to accident damage and overall the paintwork could be described as 'Four shades of grey", random star stickers on some of the doors, 'one lady owner', what's not to like?

Posted

They weren't random. They were carefully placed to cover either dents (on the bootlid), or a dodgy line where a quick blow-over wasn't in the right shade but they ran out of paint halfway up the C pillar.

It's when someone makes a suggestion which is agreeable. Probably steer clear of the 5th though....

Ok thanks. As you may know I'm in the market for a new car and this places burgers and baps sound enticing!

In another place...

There are great* cars* obtainable at Cannock, should the need for blowage of an insurance payout come forth.
Some qualified* purchasing advice* would be available entirely free of charge, also monster burgers, the latter not entirely free of charge, though.
You know what a true hero would do. I hence suggest resuscitation of a loosely related thread.

Consider it done, mein freund.

When are we going? When are we going? When are we going? When are we going? I need a wee wee. When are we going? When are we going? When are we going?

I have a severe cholesterol deficiency that can only be cured with a brekky at Hollies' and a subsequent Dreidecker burger at Sotheby's of Cannock.

Who wants to join me on Saturday 29th?

Posted

I'll try and be there, but without any form of transport :(

Second time this has happened.

That's good, then you can drive something home.

Anyway, let me know if you need a lift.

I wish Cannock could be a little nearer Ecosse :-)

You can already have an egg on the burger.

We could load up 2 cars and go down mob handed
