2001 Hyundai Coupe V6

A friend is trying to move on his Hyundai V6 Coop-eh

A months tax and MOT, one side has a couple of dents and a rust scab by the arch. Engine is fine, makes all the right V6 noises and goes well. Leather trim from memory. He's after £750 but won't be offended by sensible offers. I've suggested he puts it through the MOT as he seems fairly happy it won't need much, and we all know 12 months ticket is worth fourty quid of anyone's money. If anyone's interested but would be far happier with a full ticket I'll push the issue.

Car is Mansfield-ish.

Wow are they that cheap now? Nice looking cars these, certainly better than its predecessor that was so ugly it gave Freddy Krueger nightmares.

Weren't these the best selling coupe for years on end? They look really nice, but I've no idea what they're like to own or drive.

I think they were, but possibly only because once the Calibra was gone, and only Ford were offering the slightly-too-odd Probe and Cougar, it was kind of the default choice. It did help to make a name for Hyundai though, they're pretty well screwed together, and they look a billionty times better than the previous model.

They're meant to be quite good to drive, Cavette.

I'd quite like one. The v6 is only 170bhp and pretty thirsty but i still would.

I quite like these but as Cort says they ain't cheap to run for not an awful lot of speed or driving enjoyment, and that one just seals the deal with the 2001 reg being that bit dearer to tax.

Can't help thinking I'd have a lot more fun in an Alfa GTV, even a 2 litre.

Billy, they drive like a hi spec Lantra, i.e. dull, gutless and not cheap to run.

These have aged well, interior not bad for a Korean motor either, even the 1.6 sounds good with just a backbox, as said though the 2.7 model performance isn't great, only major gripe I have is the wiper/indicator stalks being back to front, buy it and put some Tesla badges on it and confuse non car people as to what it really is.

They certainly have aged very well. I've driver a v6 years ago and thought it was quite a capable yoke. Not going to tear up the tarmac, but went well enough. 1.6 and 2.0 are dire though.

It's actually sad to read that mate, I always liked the look of these and quite fancy one, one day.

I like these, but prefer the original one. They couldn't be any less desirable at the moment, like most cars from this era.

My mate claimed he was buying a brand new Hyundai Coupe when they had just been released and we were all impressed and couldn't wait to see it, telling him it was a really nice looking car.

This is what he bought:

Hey I drive an 2.6 Audi Coupe. Sounds perfect.

 Hyundai only got away with calling the Accent 3 door hatchback a 'coupé' because it was cheaper than the 5 door hatchback.

Is today that day? How about tomorrow? I'll even deliver! :-)

Hyundai Accent Coupe, the most dissapointing vehicle I have driven in a long, long time.

Steady, just about sums it up.

I forgot to add 'free'. What time are you coming mate?

I'll be round in an hour. Might be an idea to change the plates and grind the VIN off if you're not fussed about paying ;-)

These High'n'dry Coupé things aren't bad. The V6 is quite good fun in a snorty but not that fast coupé kinda way.

Think of a 21st century Capri Laser and you'd be insulting the Hyundai.
