I didn't name the car but who am I to end a family tradition. Thought I had better start a proper thread to stop any taxi/MGF/Amazon confusion.

So, for those who like piccies, here you go:

The worst bit (to me anyway), but help is at hand.

So, there you go. A few minor bodywork issues. I will be kept busy over the next couple of month. At least the sale of the taxi and MGF will go towards something worthwhile.

Hope ya like.

NB: Just had a text from Keith, the Amazon went through the MOT with no advisories.

Cor, you can just see Danny's oof-wagon Renault Espace in one of those shots. When do you collect?

and the project Beemer. The Anglia was on the lift in the workshop, what a stunning little car.

Operation Collect Amazon is happening on Tuesday.

That looks well tidy, they're great old buses Amazons, I had a lot of fun with the one I had.
Very good parts availability too, for ones like yours anyway, although some body parts and bumpers in particular are eye watering money but most service stuff is next day delivery from the likes of Brookhouse.

What engine & box is in it?

GR8 BBQ etc.

Amazon looks lovely, shouldn't be too difficult to turn into a minter ! They are supposed to be amongst the best '60s cars for daily use, due to reliability and road manners, so I'm looking forward to reading your ownership experiences.

Rebuilt B18 engine, not sure about the gearbox but it has been upgraded to O/D. This is/was Keith's daily driver and by god does it shift.

The biggest panel expense is front wings at just over £400 each. Luckily, these are fine and dandy.

I will update as often as possible. It will be keeping the PC stickers  :D

Love it, that interior is fab and wears the lived-in look well!  No-one seems to have a bad word to say about these cars.

That is very saucy.

A very good buy and I'm sure it'll look after you.

You cant go wrong with an old Volvo.

It's sad that you're parting with the Taxi (yes I want it, no I can't have it, seems to be the season for me saying that on Autoshite lately) but I can see why with this particular car.  I'm wondering if the blue seatbelts hint at it originally having a blue vinyl interior with the brown being a later replacement.

I noticed that the other day. Not too sure. I would imagine further examination of the build plate will tell me specifically but that will have to wait until next week. I can't even go by the carpeting as it is non-original (rubber matting was what they came with). I love the colour of the seats but the condition and slightly tired padding will drive me to distraction and will have to be dealt with. I have a thing about interiors. I may even re-carpet it in red.

Taxi will hopefully be going to one of our own early next week, I will leave it down to the interested party to notify, etc, etc. Taxi will be missed hugely and if it could have been kept then it would without a shadow of a doubt.

Oh but I really like the taxi and it has been a bloody hoot thus far. The Amazon is nice but will be better. Methinks this will be my last purchase and resto so I am determined to make it a good'un.
