Once off choke, the Golf is behaving most marvellously. Having cured it of many ills, and spent much money on preventative maintenance (cambelt) it naturally makes perfect sense to sell if for less than it has cost me. 

 

Shiter's discount takes it to £795. If it hasn't sold by the end of October, I'll have to tax it - which is the only reason I've put it up for sale to be honest. Having had to shell out for the 2CV and Disco recently, I don't really feel like giving the DVLA any more of my money.

 

Am even considering running a two-car fleet for a bit, though as one of these is a Land Rover, it could be a risky strategy.

You know the only sensible thing to do is to swap it for a BX estate... or that local Ambassador.  You could do a lot worse.

That Ambassador is pretty much doomed I think. I'm not taking it on (he wouldn't be at all interested in a swap) and I doubt anyone else will.

 

I have tried swapping the Golf for a Citroen GS estate. With zero success.
