My mate was up for the weekend, so we decided to get some pics with my Escort and his mothers Focus. With them both being black, and having silver stripes, we think there's a few similarities.

I think I may have shared a few too many images lol. We took a lot more...

Sadly not, that will be going up for sale in the next week or so to fund my next project.

If funds allow, I plan to tidy up the Civic I've got and do the few odd jobs on it, enjoy it for a bit then sell it and use the funds from both to buy something more "me", whatever "me" is!

 

The Mk3 XR3i/RS1600i has been on the bucket list for some while but to find a nice original one that hasn't been "Garyed" and thats sensible money is near impossible these days.

As much as I love that mk3 Escort, I'd have the Focus any day, even though it'll have overtaken in price in about ten years time.

I would have the Focus too, but it's impossible to compare them, other than slight asthetic similarities.

 

Station, I have all of the pics on an SD card, mate. Uploaded them all to PB, too, but I don't know how small it makes them.

The thing that strikes me is that in it's day the graphics on yours would have been considered a bit ott and tacky but it looks positively classy compared to the stsoo. To me.

 

Out of interest, what was the difference (mechanically) between a 1600i and an xr3i at that time? Just to save me spending the rest of the day thumbing through my boxes of 80's What Cars in the loft to find out. Was it a limited edition?
