Class! What's going on with the CF next to it?

Posted

CF has been sold too. The storage is going so homes have to be found for a popemobile car derived van thing and a 19 seat caetano mini coach on a toyota chassis.

Posted

I too am interested in the story behind the CF camper.  Hopefully you're keeping the minibus painted as it is.

Posted

er no....

She will be plain orange if I have my way! The back end has some hideous fox/dragon thing painted on it!! Its a cartoon interpritation of a heraldic fox.

oh and the CF belonged to the guy I dealt with but is already sold.

That's ace, you should leave 'Mayors the Coach' on it. The Graphic designer who did it needs to back to college.

Do we get a day out on the retard bus?

Foxes are cool.

And everyone loves dragons.

But a Fox-Dragon!!!

That's worth the purchase price alone.

Well bought.

there used to be a blue one that used to travel around my local area when I was growing up, im sure it had flavoured windows because when it drove past almost every passenger was licking them

very nice purchase

School orchestras used to puddle around in these as well as other community sponsored stuff. I haven't seen one of these in donkeys.

We already have another Dormobile (sunshine) bus and a parcel van. Another parcel van sold recently for £800 on ebay.

One of our local bus companies used to run a fleet of these to compliment their ancient battered fleet of 1970s single and double deckers, I remember riding on them quite a lot as a kid as they were used for local runs around the town.  I stole a look at the mileage on one of them as I boarded and it was well over 600,000 miles.  Seeing a fully laden one with no standing room left bellowing up the very steep high street in 1st gear was a cheering sight!

"I've painted your "the mayor's coach" sign as requested!"

"then why does it say "mayors the coach"?"

"BUGGER!"

And from then on, this little yellow bus called 'mayors'.

Until Fred sprayed over it.

Some of us would consider the fox-dragon pictures an attribute ;)

My local bus company, the East Kent Road Car Company, used the very same vehicles after deregulation in the mid-1980s:

Shitting hell, is that an old 08-13* Cargo dragging it home? I used to drive one many moons back that pulled like a train through the gears but had a really shit top end (about 60 I think). It was a million miles better then a Euro Cargo though.

*Or whatever model

Reminds me of the "Bustlers" they used to run in south wales post deregulation. They were always full and always seemed chronically underpowered, especially the Freight rover versions with the shitty landrover diesel engine. IIRC they didnt last the course in service, many literally falling apart before completing their pay-back period.

Great to see one surviving in such good nick.

sure that didnt have a tacho? Cos the transit speedo only goes up to 99,999, could have been km. Not saying a transit wouldnt go up to that. We had one DI go up to well over 400,000 before it went bang.
