I don't know if any of you guys are interested but there's a 1970's Car show being held in Norfolk on Sunday 14th July.

It's the first time that it's been held and it does sound as though it will be very good, even the DJ's spinning 70's vinyl all day.

There's more details here: https://www.facebook.com/events/289348311200160/?fref=ts and here: https://www.facebook.com/SuperDooper70sDay

I'll be going in the Cortina all going well,  Hopefully I'll see you there!.

I'll likely be in Norfolk in the Lancia then, but slightly further North on family duties :(

Anyway, just a bump to remind people that it's this Sunday, Apparently they are encouraging people to wear 70's clobber and I'm wearing a wig and dodgy shirt, Groovy man...  :common007:

So you're not bothering to dress up then :)

Hmm.  Wroxham Barns is about 7 miles from me.  Too far to drive in an automatic Volvo with no footbrake?

I could possibly go in the Renner Six I suppose, but that's stored at a mate's at the moment.  Them's the only two '70s cars I currently own.  Otherwise I'll trundle down in something modern and have a nose around.

Who's going to this then? I'll make an appearance at some point during the day. There was a nice little collection of stuff in Wymondham this lunch-time.

I'll let Trigger post up the proper photos - his camera will be better than my Blackberry. Anyway, here are a few from me:

Great pics. Loving the windscreen names on that Marina and the Green Shield stamps sign - very 70s!

The wHite Toledo with a partially brown bonnet was my old car. I bought it off a teacher for £96 - ebay bargain a few years ago. It was sold and had a 1850 engine put in, the engine spewed itself and was recently replaced and the car MOT'd. The car is owned now by a sound guy called Glenn. He hopes to put in a new carpet which would sort out the interior no end. I fitted black vinyl seats from a 1300FWD, they bolt straight in and are much comfier. Nice ot see it out and about.

For the same reason you'd want a picture of Tony Blackburn holding a gun next to a Lotus?

Bit of a fail on my part - due to a combination of getting up late and various things not going quite to plan, I didn't get there until about 3pm, by which time a lot of cars had already left (I saw the green Saab 95 and one of the beige Maxis heading back Norwichwards as I was coming out of Roy's in Wroxham) and Trig was just leaving.  I had a nose round what was left though - highlights for me were the proper sweet-looking Daf 33, the Amazon wagon, Bond Bug, bronze Volvo 144 and surprisingly un-fucked-about-with-looking 2-door Mk1 Escort.  The bodykitted Cortina was fun too - like being back in 1986 again.  Lowlight was the silly Fiat 500 with Poundland plastic headlight eyelashes.

If it happens again next year I'll make a proper day of it - hopefully the Volvo will have brakes by then.

Sorry I never got to speak properly to you mate but we wanted to get back plus that 4x4 was up my arse, shame you couldn't bring one of your motors, you've had enough cars to hold a 70's show of your own!

Looks like a good show.Really like those Datsun F11 coupe's.Every time I see a Bond Bug I have to look at the numberplates.I owned one between 1983 and '85 and can only remember *** 155J  the three letters I can never remember.Would be nice to know it was still about.
