Bucketeer Posted November 22, 2013 Author Posted November 22, 2013 Of course. Good work. It's the first one of that vintage I've ever seen. This place is awash with the newer flavoured ones. Junkman 1
quicksilver Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Mystery car number 3 is definitely a Nissan Cedric. That blue Jap thing has me stumped though. Bucketeer 1
KruJoe Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Nissan Laurel/Maxima/Cedric/summat else? Aye, Cedric it is. Edit - Bollox, beaten to it. Keep it up, Bucketboy. I 'heart' this thread. Bucketeer 1
Sigmund Fraud Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 That blue Jap thing has me stumped though. Mitsubishi 'Toppo BJ Wide', one of them strange kei car things that was never sold in Europe. Bucketeer 1
Bucketeer Posted November 22, 2013 Author Posted November 22, 2013 ^^^ That just sounds like a made up name, but you're right. Top marks. Found an image of an even shite-ier Toppo variant. Lukas and Junkman 2
KruJoe Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 LOL that's well naff. I think I have a pap somewhere of something similar, maybe a three door version. CBA looking now, but I'm enjoying these.
quicksilver Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 I literally LOLed at that Toppo, it's an actual real-life Postman Pat van and it has an utterly stupid name to boot. Surely anyone who buys one of those deserves many many shite points. Bucketeer 1
Bucketeer Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 There seems to be some MEGA Toppo variants, all brilliantly shite in their own little deformed way. And KJ, isn't it about time you buggered off abroad for your winter assignment, doing your Autoshite civic duty and providing us all with ace shots of shitey Thai porn.Back in the game!
KruJoe Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 I'll be there in a week - Can't wait! The Toppo Carbonara Arousal Platypus that I spotted was just like that last one ^ and looked well out of place in Chiang Mai Airport car park. Bucketeer 1
Bucketeer Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 Up and down Britain, at this very moment, there will be hundreds of up and coming bands rehearsing, dreaming of making it to the big-time, but unable to think of a really good name for their group.Enter KruJoe.I would buy anything from a band called 'Carbonara Arousal Platypus', without even hearing what it sounded like.
KruJoe Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 They've removed the badgeing to avoid further embarrassment: Junkman and Bucketeer 2
Bucketeer Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 ^^^ Bonnet scoop and alloyz too, proper hardcore Toppo. In other chodventuring news, I have finally decided on the next next leg of my journey. It has all been planned out meticulously*, so sometime next week when the weather's good and I'm in the mood, I'm going to hitch-boat/boat-hike back to the south coast of Turkey, and then walk back up to lovely Bulgaria, where I will get a chance to chill out for a bit and visit friends before setting off for somewhere else.Subsequently, I will probably be OUT OF THE GAME for as long as it takes me to stroll 1,447km, due to the combination of miniscule phone battery life and the lack of plug sockets in my tent.Conveniently, Mr KruJoe will be able to take up the reigns as Intercontinental Shite Spotter during my inevitably un-noticed absence.I'm sure there is still some un-spotted shite still lurking around Cyprus though, so I shall endeavour to spottagerizate anything remaining before I depart. nigel bickle, Lacquer Peel, KruJoe and 1 other 4
Bucketeer Posted November 28, 2013 Author Posted November 28, 2013 It was the last day with the SCOOTER OF DISMAY today, so I manage to spy a few more tolerable shiters. Sporty. Hen-house shite. I think this is only the second Rover I've seen on the island, and a Sterling Fastback to boot. Shed Volvo. Just behind the Volvo shed. I wonder if Green Flag knows that one of their vans is abandonded in N.Cyprus.That's if Green Flag still exists. As I was pulling into the petrol station to fill up the SCOOTER OF MAYHEM, this Cambridge was just leaving. I swiftly brimmed the capacious tank and shot off down the road to try and catch it up. Luckily it was being driven at around 12mph by a gentleman of many years, so I found it no bother. Had a little chat with him after he parked up, reassured him I hadn't been following him to rob or rape him, and got a couple of photos. I was tempted to ask the old guy to give it a Woollard pose but I feared he might have cracked a hip trying to get his leg up that far. Saw this gold R9 for sale on the side of the road. Way too rich for my blood though. A minor garden ornament. Some Moke type grimness. And finally, 0.8 litres of throbbing Maruti muscle. I'm leaving for Turkey and beyond on Saturday, so this will quite possibly be the last update for a couple of months.Although I am toying with the idea of walking to the South coast of Cyprus and back for a week before hitch-boating/boat-hiking back to Turkey, so maybe I can grab some Cypri-Greek-o-chod before thread hibernation. And for anyone at all envious about my 1,500km walk through Turkey to Bulgaria, think of me on Christmas morning, sat freezing and alone in my tent, probably eating soil and sobbing my way through some carols.Sounds great, can't wait.L8RZ SHITERZ. Junkman, michiel and KruJoe 3
Bucketeer Posted November 28, 2013 Author Posted November 28, 2013 Those are ultra-modern swank-o-coaches over here. The stuff they transport the kids to school in wouldn't look out of place in 'On The Buses'. EDITAlmost forgot to add, I saw a few more 'interestingly' named Japanese cars today whilst riding about. No chance for photos and they're not quite on a par with the Toppo BJ Wide Carbonara Backdoor Dogsled thingy, but there was a Nissan Wingroad, a Honda Airwave and a Toyota Belta.
Lukas Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 That´s a typical cyprus-schoolbus: Picture taken 2011 near Zygi on the south coast. Junkman and Bucketeer 2
Junkman Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 I think this is only the second Rover I've seen on the island, and a Sterling Fastback to boot. I probably will stand corrected on this, but IIRC all 800 series built for export were badged as Sterlings.
Bucketeer Posted November 29, 2013 Author Posted November 29, 2013 ^^^ That does ring some vague memory bells and 100% of all the 800 series Rovers I have seen since being abroad (one) have been Sterling badged, so it must be true. Junkman 1
Bucketeer Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 I'm spotting in the rainJust spotting in the rainWhat a disappointing feelingI'm back in Britain again. So, for unreasonable reasons, I have been forced to return to the UK for a few weeks before re-commencing the life of travel. After getting over the initial malaise, I'm now ready to get back on the spotty horse. Two hours in to today's walk, and with nothing much spotted, I was ready to condemn the South East for it's lack of shite. I always keep up my faith in the God of Chod though, and after the slow start he/she came up trumps yet again. A new entry in this week's pop chart for the duo 'Pumped and Stanced' with their single 'I Can't Focus (Smudged Lens Remix)'. Meanwhile, in Campervan Corner . . . . . I would happily take this sweetie 'round the world with me. More camper-y tat along with 'Scrote MPV (Moving Pontiff Vehicle). Sweet late reg, shit-trimmed 5. OH . . . . . . EM . . . . . . EFF . . . . . . GEE.Genuinely breathtaking. Black Mini-lites, a sackload of rust bubbles and 'pick a colour' paintwork should diminish the appeal of this horny Scandi-slut.But they don't. Someone with good taste.Note beige and brown Dollops in the background along with another similar Triumph under the CPT. Whoever owns this needs to be my new best friend.I love BX's and I love you too BX man. They're Justy-fied and they're ancientAnd they drive a nice clean hatch I also love jelly.A couple of extra cylinders would improve the flavour, but a delight all the same. I don't remember ever seeing a booted Fellatio before (or whatever they called these, I'm shit with modern cars).According to notacluehowmanyleft.com © this is the only one in the world and therefore worth TENS of pounds. michiel, Junkman, KruJoe and 2 others 5
hairnet Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 there were two of those in radcliffe auction when we were looking at a xsara before xmas too spendy tho they wanted a bag for them and we were looking on ebay at newer ones for under 700 quid whats the yank shite next tot he vectra.........
Bucketeer Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 If you mean the one under the Cat Piss Tarp, then I think it's a Triumph. Maybe another Dollop-o-shite, not certain. I will return to that street soon to investigate further. That one small street contained the dazzling Datsun, the sexy Saab and the Mk1 Sierra/Triumph Dollop combo.
Bucketeer Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 Just to right royally fuck up the thread chronology, here's the last picture I took before leaving N.Cyprus about six or seven weeks ago.IN YOUR FACE, ORGANISATION. Dave_Q and Junkman 2

Squire_Dawson Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I really want some old Eastern Block chod - pre 1990, Moskvitch, warty or a trabi would be spot on...going for daft money over here at the moment miss the old Yugo 45 You're right, they are annoyingly going for daft money, and I don't know why. Prices tripled overnight ffs. Keep up the good work Bucketeer. Bucketeer 1
Bucketeer Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 Some more low-rent spotting, from the last few days. I don't recall ever seeing one of these old Purrzho vans in the flesh before. And in the space of an hour, I saw two. This camper is in AS team colours and has an AS reg plate. BIG WIN. More brown and beige camper-y goodness. This MX5 is troubling. What remains of my brain is repulsed, yet my heart is saying kudos for originality and for retro-fitting extra shiteness. The rear has been altered too, as can be clearly* seen below. Rovergrown. Nice condish. Respect. How much air does one engine need? Junkman, Mr Lobster and theorganist 3
Ghosty Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 This MX5 is troubling. What remains of my brain is repulsed, yet my heart is saying kudos for originality and for retro-fitting extra shiteness. The rear has been altered too, as can be clearly* seen below. That looks like a Wataru...
Bucketeer Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 Cheers Max, never heard of 'em before. Every day's a school day and all that. I am disappointed it has not been cobbled together under a leaking lean-to, with a hacksaw and some Araldite. eddyramrod 1
Ghosty Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 It's a Japanese MX-5 based thing - only know as some guy on RR had a crash damaged one a couple of years ago.A good one looks like this: pompei 1
