What cars are on your 'to own' list?......

I was having a look at the tat thread earlier (as i do regularly) and got to thinking about what cars i'd like to own in the near future.

I love cars, as we all do...that's why we're here after all. But ferraris, porsches and the like have never done anything for me, what i like are the everyday chod i grew up with......hence i've got a slightly rough list/idea of the cars i intend to own in the near future.

Luckily i earn okay-ish money, have no nagging otherhalf nor any offspring so i think the majority of the following are acheivable if i look to spend no more than a grand and a half to two grand for reasonable(if slightly tatty examples).

1) Early marina saloon, ideally a povo-spec model in something like limeflower or Maroon.

2) SD1, again an early one, but unusually i quite fancy a straight six variant.

3) An Avenger, could be difficult as they're seems to be very few about.

4) Arrow body sceptre/minx/hunter/vogue, Just because i love the interior.

5) S111 XJ Jag, go all out and get a V12, because why the fuck not.

6) Vauxhall VX4/90, Both FD and FE i find appealing but the FE edges it.

7) HC Viva Magnum (or is it just magnum?) something like the car that starred in Red Riding would be the ideal.

8) Mk2 Vauxhall Cavalier, i grew up with these as the staple family car for my formative years and have always had a soft spot for them.

9) Another Capri laser, Had a red one when i was twenty (pogweaseled to fuck), i abused it for six months then flopped it on for parts. Had been a decent car till i got it.... it didn't deserve me, nor i it. I'd like to make amends for that.

10) Volvo 144/Saab96, don't really mind which i'd just like to try a scandinavian tank.

11) Mk2 Granada Ghia, with all the bells and whistles (spoilers, spots, etc) Landlord of the local had a metallic burgundy one when i was small, i was so awesome i still remember it perfectly 20+ years later. Think this will soon be out of my price range though.

12) Toyota supra mk1

13) Hillman Imp, Just because......

14) Reliant scimitar SE6a

15) Triumph 2000/2500, Has to be in honeysuckle yellow/russet brown.

They're the kind of cars i'd like to own mainly because they're all cool as fuck but also because i've owned almost exclusively fords in the nearly thirty cars i've had and i'd like to try something different.

So What about you?

Too many, here's a few ...

Saab 95/6 estate - I want a funky estate

Citroen Ami break - alternate funky estate

Lancia HPE 2.0ie in black - I have a red VX as my current funky estate, but a black ie is what I really wanted.

Tipo Sedicivalvole - I think Tipo handling is gr9.3

Fiat Coupe 20v turbo - handling and power on the cheap

Alfa 155 Q4 or a Dedra integrale - Like a delta integrale, but a Tipo based saloon.

More aspirational:

A De Tomaso (Pantera/Longchamps/any)

Yes, I know they're not all really shite, but my passion is more towards the slightly obscure.

Austin/ Morris/ Wolseley 18-22 Series, Princess or Princess 2.

Many other cars take my fancy when I see them, and at that moment in time I desperately want them. No other cars have had such lasting appeal as the BL wedges. They are the permanently featured cars on my 'must own' list.

EDIT: Preferably an HLS Princess in Beige, with a manual gearbox and a vinyl roof.

Breadvan, you have a lot to answer for! A Jensen Fabboceptor has now displaced the Jaguar XJS from the top of bucket list, and that was one that had had approval from The Management. Otherwise an Alfa Bertone GTV from the early 70s, Fiat Panda 4x4 (original flavour, but I wouldn't say no to a later one) a larger 4xShite (Disco 2 or P38 RR seem to loom large) and a 50s classic (Sunbeam Talbot 90 would do nicely)

Less likely to achieve are the Bedford OB and Dodge Spacevan (qv The Management) and the Swallow Doretti; they were made only just up the road by men in a large shed (aircraft hanger) but only come up for sale every other decade :(

good luck with the tagora

Talbot Tagoras are quite common, its the Samba S that will be difficult.

I wanted a diesel until I heard the sound of the V6! But in all honesty it will probably be the 2.2 that I end up with, and this is a car where I have no preference in colour either so it's actually quite exciting wondering what I will end up with.

95% certain it will be LHD as I will be budgeting around £1000 for the car and £500 for the "holiday to France".. unless something RHD turns up cheap but I doubt that. The last cheap RHD Tagora got squashed and I still don't think we can talk about that.... not enough time has passed.

Oh and I love the SX's alloy wheels that's the only other problem.

The only cars I've got an 'itch' for at the moment are:

Mercedes W124 CE/E

Mercedes 190E 2.0/2.6 auto.
