My 1988 Bluebird for sale - SOLD

A lot of you know this car, we have had it for 4 years after buying from senor bollox in 2009 and it has been quite honestly fantastic. It has never let me down, always starts on the button (unless you leave the lights on, did that twice when I first got it!) even when it has been mega cold.

It has always gone straight through the MOT since I have had it, I did have to whack a zip tie on a cv boot once to get the ticket! I also put a rear exhaust section on last November and it may need a centre section (about £35 on ebay) soon although I have patched it and it should be fine for the mot.

It's mot'd until July 13th, tax is not included but you can buy it at it's value if you like!.

I'm only selling it as I fancy a change after 4 years and the mrs does struggle with the non-powered steering when she drives it. Everything works, the central locking, electric sunroof and windows etc. It also has a fantastic brown/beige interior that I spent 2 days cleaning when I got it. No rips/tears in the seats, we don't smoke and it is all clean and tidy apart from the keyed n/s rear door and a bit of rust on the inner lip of the near side rear arch.

Obviously there are a few other little marks here and there but it is a good solid old bus and will last a good few more years in the right hands.

I don't want much for it, just hoping another shiter can get some good use out of it so how about £295 to take it? I would guess it would be worth £200 as scrap? With the 10 months tax that is still on it the price is £475.

I'm in Crewe, Cheshire - 10 mins from J16 of the M6.

This one was taken last Nov by Watanabe on an old 35mm camera.

Bargain of the day. These are great transport. So solid you need two arms to lift the bonnet (or you did with mine anyway!).

Sigh if i ever sell the Omega one day or me leather recliner seattes i might be able to get something nice like this. Why do cars like this always appear when you are skint????

Also it's about the same distance as we went for the Polo, I'd happily drive the Vento back up!

Oh ballz 270 miles away picked up and then home in one day. How much extra for tax?

Posted

Well there is 10 months left so it's about £180. :)

The one car I regret getting rid of is this,

Getting this would go some way to helping me get over it, I know its a newer one but cant find a u11 anywhere.

Im definitely interested.

My mum and dad live there could maybe help out with some logistics if needed.

Well Crewe is dead easy to get to by rail, happy to pick you up from the station!

Another quality vehicle supplied by BO11OX_MOTORS! I can testify that this is a mega honest old bus, I wouldn’t mind it back myself though I haven’t really got an application for it right now.

Why not just leave the tax on it and lob a few bob on top of the asking price?

Makes it so much easier for any prospective buyer.

Eh? Surely thats exactly the option he's giving.

Sorry, but I've just got a thing about separate deals for tax.

I'll keep me gob shut.

£85 train ticket or £70 in derv. I think I would just drive down.

What is difficult about adding 2 figures together?

For those that can't, it's £475 including 10 months tax that is worth around £180.

So when do you want to pick it up? I'm here most of the time. :D

From tomorrow im working four 12 hour night shifts so if I do decide to go for it then it would be mon/tue at the earliest. I'll keep you posted. If anyone snaps it up before then so be it.

Whats the mileage on it?

Is it silver or light metallic green? I'm struggling to tell from the photos.

Posted

It's light green metallic, I'll take some more pics later or tomorrow. It has done 103,300 miles and had a new cam belt at 90 something when I bought it, I'll check the MOT for the exact mileage.

All the tyres are good as well by the way, it has tinted glass too!

I can attest to the fact they are bloody excellent cars. Very comfy, easy to work on, great visibilty and never break down. That's a mega bargain

Come on folks, this is a lovely old thing....I'd like it to stay in the family like the 323 did..

I'm trying to reel myself in a bit here as this isn't my car: If you're worried about the exact colour and mileage of a £295 car that is about as reliable and good value for money as you're ever likely to find, then you're absolutely fucked.

Posted
 oh fuck its not the colour im looking for, theres a bit too much rust on it for my liking. Its only 25 years old ffs! I was just asking. Looks really clean.

not sure if you are being serious there or not?? I don't think I have ever seen one with less rust in the 4 years I have had it.

Posted

sorry no i really do think it looks really clean, was just pissed that because i asked about colour/mileage somebody thought i was being choosy. Theres cars 10 years old with a lot more rust.

Posted

I really could do with something like this in my life right now BUT when I'm bored with it I know I'd end up listing it on Ovalchat for a hassle free sale. I'm best out.
