Always wanted one of these, loved them since they came out. One of the project drive cars, so although its a connoisseur se, no trip computer, no auxiliary heater, but does have climate control, electric leather memory seats, and reversing sensors. Its done high mileage, as nearly all the diesels are, but drives perfect, no clonks or bangs. long mot, taxed but needs a couple of tyres, and a bracket straightening on the rear bumper somewhere as its pushed out near the wheelarch. Price, 1k, time will tell if its a good buy or not.

A grand seems a decent price for a 2004 diesel, especially one as nice as that. The interiors on these are LUSH, top bombing I say.

the price of tyres is frightening! 215/55/16, ditch finders start at 65 quid, anything quality is around a ton. Might try and find some second hand ones till its proved itself worthy of doing my 300 miles a week.

Nice. Get signed up on the 75/ZT forum if you haven't already, and make sure those scuttle drains are clear so rain doesn't wash all over the ECU. Am having a serious case of missing my old 75 diesel at the moment. Would quite like to try an auto.

I fancied an auto, infact theres a nice one on the owners forum for sale at the moment. However the increased fuel consumption and the fact there tax is 60 quid more a year put me off. Anyway, its had a cat lick clean inside, needs the full volksangyl attention really, so now smells a lot fresher. Binned the stereo that was fitted, and chucked in an old sony mp3 player i had, really impressed with the speakers in it, acdc never sounded so good! Tomorrow will be sort out some cheap tyres and swap the insurance over from the c5.

There are few better sights than a Rover 75 with the correct custom shaped rear numberplate.

awesome, I've been looking at getting one of these for a while now, bit of a bargain for a bag o sand.

Anyhoo show us some pics of that interior :)

That is almost definitely next on the list but I can't decide on the saloon or estate.

I'm thinking estate as I know I could flog it to Skattrd when I'd had enough of it

225/50/16s would no doubt fit and are (I think) far more common. An extra 10mm width shouldn't cause fouling problems either. I swapped to this size on my Cougar as 215s were seemingly made in a factory in Unobtainia (by the Oomba Goomba Rubber Co).

Looks like a good purchase.

If I'm a good boy and stop buying random shite I may treat myself to one of these ... They do look rather nice.

On the subject of tyres I got a set of Neuton's fitted to the S80 in 215/55/16 for £70 a corner, Neo brothers sell them on ebay & have a workshop in North London. The tyres handled pretty well and still had decent tread left after 15k, when I sold the car, I'd have some more.

This is class! Looks to be the same colour as my Sterling (paint code 'LAL') I've driven a couple of 75s/ZTs and know I really want one, project drive or not.

Nice...............I still regret selling my ex Dollywobbler / Minimad estate. Think auto is a good idea, knowing what a complete ball ache clutch hydraulics are on these

Well insurance changed over, 2 part worns fitted to the front and two new ditchfinders on the rear. I knew it needed tracking, but for 15 quid extra got a full four wheel alignment done. Everything was a mile out, cracked me up when they said it looks like a bmw at the rear underneath. Anyway after watching them beat holy hell out the rear mounts and watch the figures on the computer screen tie up it was time for a test drive. Now drives straight and true! Found a new centre console lid on ebay 2 miles away so treated it to that to replace the busted one. Jobs left to do are fix the glove box lid as it seems to have a roll pin come out, fir the new electric window switch when it turns up, and tweak the back bumper into place. Took the opportunity to have a look to see why the bumper wasn't in line while it was on the ramp, and it looks an easy fix to bend a steel guard back into the correct place which will sort the bumper bulge out. however after todays bad news, (see grumpy thread), not sure when i'll get round to these jobs.

Ahh, a 75 interior in leather, one of the nicest places to be automotive - wise. Must own another of these soon.
