MrRegieRitmo
I ordered my first Minichamps model for a while today, an Escort MKIII convertible, as it was the only shite model in a sale a website I visit had.I still need one of those! May I enquire as to where it was? PM if preferred...Bugger about that Cortina, I can't seem to locate another for a reasonable price - how did I know that was going to happen?? Typical! brammy777
of course regie here is the link: http://www.modelenium.co.uk/models/Ford-Escort-III-Cabriolet-1983-blue-metallic--400085030.aspx Yeh, annoying for me too! I was planning to keep that one and sell another one i bought, but alas no luck. He has had 3 orders since my last with him The cortina was number 12 And the XR3 was number 16..... Weird how the maize cortina is advertised on ebay as the life on mars one, when the bronze one actually IS the car used.

They have some other interesting ones to clear too, can't believe the Corsa A SR is on clearance, I paid full price for that (and probably more besides) from a model shop in Malta last year! Can only hope they get some more in, otherwise it's a nasty coincidence that they just so happen to sell out at the moment I/we discover them!Well maybe initially Corgi hadn't planned to do the actual LoM car so originally the maize yellow one was going to be as close as it got but maybe they realised the potential popularity of it from sales of the yellow one so decided to release one! brammy777
I'll let you know when it arrives!Ah you raise a good point, perhaps they werent planning on such a successI tell you what, Corgi/Hornby have made a good move making Vanguards more limited, it seems every release pretty much sells out now.I would buy that Corsa A but no need with me planning on buying the Nova from Lobster when its released. That guy who sells all those ford models is terrible at replying to emails, I sent him two asking how much stock he had, and he didnt reply to either, yet rang me up when he lost my payment details(dodgy), so before i recieved it, i was slightly nervous he may have been a fraud. But all was well.Speaking of Escort MKIIIs, Sunstar are the latest brand to make a 1/43 version, this time a RHD GLIt looks pretty good, well better than the atrocious MKIIs they do, which are so obviously re used rally castings. MrRegieRitmo
I'm not sure what it is about Sunstar, I know they are in theory the modern day 'Vitesse' (which I used to buy lots of when they were out) but I very rarely buy any of them unless they do a model that no-one else has done. They just never look as good to me as Minichamps, Auto Art, IXO, Schuco etc
pogweasel
Hey, this seller's got some good stuff, sadly at CRAZY prices - thoought the idea of buying in bulk was so you could get things CHEAPER, not more than individually.... http://toys.shop.ebay.co.uk/Diecast-Veh ... 11.c0.m282
brammy777
Yeh, that sellers prices are shocking!especially the lot of 3 vanguards(which arent exactly rare ones) for £34. Just stupid. And all the other ones hes listing are mostly the older less collectable ones.I wish more stores would sell minichamp models at a cheaper price, as for now i can only have the odd occassion where i can actually afford one. I only need ford or opel models, but sadly they are the ones which largely keep their value.Anybody want a Police XR3i model?I had planned to sell the black one, but I have too many police cars. Justin Case
A few from my collection.Dinky Chevy: Dinky Ford Pilot: Maisto E-type, strange scale of 1/38 Poundshop DS: Norev BX: Russian Police Moskvich (collectors fair find): Clockwork Wartburg : And of course a few Alfas, 2600 is Verem, don't seem to see much of their stuff: I've also got quite a few Saabs, mainly 96s and 900s tucked away in the top of the wardrobe. Is it worth while digging them out and posting some photos?
michiel
All I have is a box of Ferraris at my parents place (should take them with me next time I'n there) and now one of these: First generation Florian, mine has a broken mirror. I guess there's not a big market for really good Florian models, or models of the face/arselifted ones...

pogweasel
Are those Dinky-repro's worth any coin? I've got a mint boxed MGB somewhere (at my mums), ought to find it out but it won't gel with my collection of GROT.
Mr Lobster
Are those Dinky-repro's worth any coin? Dunno tbh. They have recently reissued all the old French Dinky stuff using the original tooling as part of a part work series. We bought a good few thinking they'd sell quite well but it just hasn't happened. Better chance with an MGB though. If it's original Dinky then you'll be laughing, the newer chinese built repro stuff is a bit more difficult though. brammy777
Well lobster, i shall order the fiesta tomorrow i reckon!I looked on foreign ebay, the only cheap ones they do are the MK1 BX, which is a little under £16 from spain including p+PBut i desperately want this MKII granny i found, its bloody expensive, but its the only ford model aside from a taunus(cortina MKV) i really need at the moment. pogweasel
MODEL BUYERS BEWARE. Three weeks ago I ordered a model from this guy: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/brianbillie/ It never turned up so I had to go through paypal. Now this fella has been trying to bid on my stuff (presumably to recoup what he was forced to refund / counter feedback) and is sending me a load of shitty emails. So you have been warned!
brammy777
is it abusive emails? ebay can get someone in trouble for that.
pogweasel
I'd say 'snotty' rather than out-and-out abusive. I guess he just didn't like the feedback. I ordered a Hillman Avenger in polar white, I really wanted that one, as the Tiger one or the electric blue 'top hat' style one would not gel with my shite collection. It did not arrive and he could not source a replacement so had to refund, hence I am still looking, I think a neutral feedback is appropriate, clearly he does not?
brammy777
considering his massive amount of feedback, neutral is perfectly fair, he advertised goods he couldnt send you, so he broke trading standards( apparently all those rules apply to ebay as well). The cheapest white one on ebay is 9 quid buy it now, that any use to you?in actual fact, the white one i believe was one of the decertificate models from when corgi thought thatd be a good idea, it wasnt, so they got bought out.So its the cheapest one on da bay.Ill let you know if another turns up, as i feel responsible for linking you to that no show!
pogweasel
Yeah, the one I ordered was like £6. I have a self-imposed limit of £7.50 for each vanguard, because (a) that's a fair amount without it causing domestic grief and ( it's more fun to chase them down cheap than just paying £12-£25 off the peg (no offence to Mr_Lobster like!)
