That has an extremely high-brow cast for a training video, top drawer stuff!

Awesome! Pro-post.

I think you could cut together a convincing 80s soap opera out of those.

Posted

Brilliant! Will be viewing these over the weekend when I've got time.

I love the 4th one with the difficult customers!

These kind of have an air of sadness, a once giant of the car industry struggling to flog a small range of outdated models.

Wonderful stuff - truly astounding.

I have one of these, too. I will post it when I get a spare couple of hours to scrape it off the DVD.

Epic stuff - love it!

When I was a kid George Sweeney used to give me nightmares.

Posted

Excellent stuff. Still relevant today.

The H**** main dealer near me could pick up a few tips!

George Sweeney - always played the tough guy, played a complete nutter called Tim Cook in two episodes of the sweeney.

If he had worked at my local AR dealer i'm not sure I'd have complained about my montego's wheel bearings being noisy.

He was a horrible bastard in the Sweeney, in fact a few of the actors in that video have either been in the Sweeney or the Professionals.

Great viewing. I sat through two of those and found them strangely fascinating. Lot of good advice in there even today I would say...

Agreed. Just watched all three...I think it also gives a valuable insight into the daily turmoil that seemed so prevalent at BL dealerships everywhere.

Should have phoned Rimmers - here's a GTT101 :D:D

Oh wow, a fishnet towball glove. Kinky.

I'd be reluctant to piss down the earholes of the fister brothers if their brains were on fire.

Indeed so. Only some carefully placed tits would have improved the viewing experience. Anyone have Ian Lavender's phone number please? I'm struggling with a particularly cheeky fault on a late '70s National Panasonic telly. One of these modern ones it is, colour picture and everything!

What year are these from? I figured about 84-85 given the montegos and references to sierras etc but the SD1 poster on the wall making it no later than 86..

Posted

Yeah about right, there is mention of the Rover 200 SD3 too which was from 1984, but also the SD1 which was sold until 86 as you said. No Acclaims as the new Rover 200 replaced them in summer 1984.

Just got around to watching these - brilliant stuff and, yes, the fourth is the most entertaining.

Scary how dated it all seems really...
