GLWTS - that's a fantastic vehicle for so little money.

Agreed. I thought so too. Will pain me to sell it really.

Its priced at Autoshite prices ATM, so I hope someone takes it at "shite trade discount" before the bay.

Check out similar (and hillarious) examples:

^Lots of miles, still rather expensive. Plus its the wrong way round

^ Er............. HOW MUCH!!!!???

Train - £120 and seven hours. Seven hours! I can service the 2CV in less time than that! (1 hour to carry out the work, 5 hours to find where the hell that bloody tool has gone. I only had it a minute ago!)

Guess my marriage is safe then. Sorry!

Swop for a 406 GLX with PAS and a 2.0 petrol engine?*

Or is that still too big? I've parked it beside my 1972 Granada for a pic.

Now the Granada would be one step above the 406's ancestors and should therefore be significantly bigger; but they are just about the same size! 406 does have aerodynamics though, where the Granada has a vertical front, for example.

*Somebody stop me! A grey Jag is almost exactly what I don't need!

I don't see you having trouble selling it at that price, particularly with a decent length of MOT. XJ40 prices have been rising of late (quite strongly for the best cars: mint XJRs; Daimlers; 4 litre Sovereigns and V12s) but "daily driver's" values have increased a bit too.

The inner wings under the bonnet look to be good on your car - they're a notorious rust spot on rusty cars. If the bulkhead is respectable then from the photos, I'd say you underpaid for the car and could well get more than £550 selling it. If the bulkhead is pretty good, include photos of it in any advert. People who know late XJ40s will be impressed by this.

Yeah, Ive kind of had a 406.......... Didnt go too well.

But heres my frog tin POS.

And things are not going well.

First day I had it, the handbrake cable snapped. The car rolled down a hill and into the back of another car. (casnm you spot the 2nd hand bumper?!!

Then the Clutch cable gave up and it got stuck in gear. Cue new clutch cable.

Then when it was up on ramps, I happened to notice the MA-HOOOSIVE hole in the passenger sill.

Oh and the front Aunties Roll Bar drop links both need done.

And the rear Rose Bushes.

And it needs a New Headlight.

And A Tyre.

And Wheel Ballancing.

And it wont rev over 4K

And the tax and test is due next month. JOY!!! :(

Not long after that, it shit itself inside out and died. Half way through the Tyne Tunnel. The push out charge was more than the value of the car at the time.

They are decent cars, but my attitude toward them is somewhat tainted. And yore right, I think it would be a bit big for the other half. Shes just taking her test now and has a firmly "small car" mindset. As in, she wants a small car.

Cheers for the offer though!

That Granada looks impossibly beautiful.

Fairy Nuff, and thank you for the kind words. I agree with Mrs V actually: given that she's just passed her test, small makes sense from an insurance point of view. Best of luck, and whoever buys the Jag: I'm jealous!

Swop a Chrysler Neon?

Would have to be a 1.0 or a 1.1 for swaps Im affraid mate. I think the insurance for a new driver on 1.8 - 2.0 would be extortion AND rape.

Where abouts are you in the North East.

NE30, Cullercoats Bay. East of Newcastle, on the coast and just north of the river mouth. Bring the family. Collect winkles, eat chips and drive home in a Jag. :P

Isn't this the one CAVCRAFT have been looking at to add to their fleet?.

I do believe it is!

Did you get the battery sorted, VND?

Well reminded! I'd ommited to mention that.

*Also comes with a brand new and warrantied battery. 3 Year warranty I think.*

I'll add this salient point to the listing.

I could drive it to south of the tunnel if that calms your nerves?
