Oi! 2CVs ARE easy to work on! It's a phact that they're complicated and an absolute nightmare. If I can do it, it can't be that bleedin' hard. Though I've never tried replacing a rear brake pipe...

 

Also, my wife's Mini WAS good on fuel. 50mpg seemed no problem. As long as I wasn't driving it... Now that was bloody horrible to work on.

 

Another phact. Only Rover K-Series engines suffer from OMGHGF.

none of the three minis i had were good on fuel,35mpg to maybe 40 if i was lucky.mind you i was used to Reliants getting up to 70mpg,plus the rust annoyed me.

I had a 2cv,and they are a pain in the ass.I love them to bits,and they are extremely simple.Just they are French,and the French do things differently to the British.

Here is an example why my 2cv came off the road,and never went back on while i owned it.

Oil feed pipe leaking between pump and 2 heads.

Bought replacement (cost £40)

pipe arived,in a coil,wasnt even pre shaped.

attempted to bend high pressure steel pipe.

To get at pipe,wing has to come off.

Undo wing bolts

Sill comes off with wing.

Wing and sill go in boot.

Pipe snaps banjo bolt.

Metallic paint was invented by accident in the Cadillac factory in the 1930s. One of the aluminium stirrers in the paint agitator
