Mrs T's new daily driver

The financial controller put a deposit on this on Wednesday as the replacement for her Skyline, it's the first time she has bought a car on her own and apart from a few niggles, which you have to expect on a nearly 28 year old car, having fetched it home today I think she has spent her £500 rather well!

Sold with 12 months MOT, 33K from new in the same family supported by Honda service history for the first 10 years and then all MOT's to the present day.

It requires some attention around the arches so I'll probably end up painting the bottom half at some point to compliment the rest of the paintwork, the rear wiper is back on now, the clip was broken (soon sorted with a spare from another wiper) the interior is in good condition, all in all for a first attempt she didn't do bad, lets see if she's still smiling after a week of manual choke, keep fit windows and no central locking.....

These Civics have a lovely shape, and I like the all glass tailgate. Would this be an EE chassis in Honda-speak?

Lovely decent giffer-from-new car, just goes to show they are still out there, even after scrappage.

The doctor would have that arch sorted and then up on the bay with a £1995 reserve in no time!

Has it come with a brochure about Honda motorcycle engines or something? (amongst the paperwork).

That will be this, folded up behind the owners handbook in the wallet along with the PDI check list

I've always been a fan of these. Owned a later-shape one but even that felt like a Honda - as in low slung and surprisingly sporty.

Very nice, my 2nd favourite Honda, after the similarly shaped Aerodeck.

what a fab looking little car - looks like another Honda-shaped bargain to me

Great looking cars, so much more delicate than 'compact' modern fare. Like these and the accord aerodeck. I've always wondered what the vent things are in the doors?

Always liked those Civics, up in Scotland most of them were rusted to buggery, even 15~20 years ago!

If keeping for a while, it would be an idea to apply more underseal/corrosion protection I guess?

Looks great as it stands :)

That does look sweet. Would imagine a Hondamatic Civic is going to be a bit of a shock to the system after a Skyline though, although the fuel bills may come as a welcome relief.

Liking the Stag Ear in the background.

She kept the Skyline for 2 1/2 years then got bored with it, judging by the smile on her face most of the 40 miles back I think it may be a long while before she bores of the Civic and I have no intention of selling my Gen 1 so it will be in good company.

The Civic should half the fuel bill compared with the Skyline and even better than the alcoholic Stagea she has been using this week.

I popped out in the Civic this afternoon and it's quite nippy, mind you her Skyline was a non turbo 2.0 litre so wasn't exactly quick!

It's not perfect Jim but neither was the Acclaim when it first arrived, the thing is I know I can't leave the paintwork till the spring as somebody won't let me, tomorrow I have to use up all the filters and ignition parts she bought for it yesterday.

Nice buy. 8) I tend to have a preference towards these 'bread van' style Civic hatchbacks.

These must have been quite ahead of their time styling wise back in 1984 with it's glassy tailgate? :? Just like the 2006 Civic was.

Lovely buy! Bought one of these a good few years ago at the local auction for the asshole sister in law as a first car. Cracking car and drove beautifully. Good luck with it :D
