Right, this thread will take about eleventy years to do properly as Botophucket currently seem to be hiding in a internet-less barn SUCKING DONKEY WHANG as their website goes tits up. So expect more pictures sometime next Julember.

Couldn't go to the show today (due mostly to alcohol/time/family shizzles] so I went here

http://www.mouldsworthmotormuseum.com/intro1.htm

instead on my 1950's bike

About 8 miles each way, quite a nice ride out really. Bit odd with only one gear, I could certainly have flown past some of the spandex gang on their bikes if I had. The seat isn't sprung so was a tad uncomfortable but it was a really enjoyable ride and the old bike got a bit of interest on the way and at the museum.

It's only a small place, hidden away in leafy Cheshire and not too far from Delamere Forest, and probably houses about thirty cars at the most. However it's not just about the motors as such, it's the other stuff in there (garages, old tools, magazines, advertising signs, all manner of stuff) plus the building itself which is an old waterworks. I've been coming here on/off for years, not sure how long it's been opened (edit, website says 1971) but it seems to be forever. £4.00 to get in, if you literally ran round the interior walkway and back out again you'd probably do it sub sixty seconds.

My favourite bits are the replica old garage containing an 'as found' bubble car (it came from somewhere in the area of Chester I live in) which hasn't been restored and the workshop area which is filled with rammle from all sorts of eras. The stuff in there ranges from probably turn of the 1900s up to about early 1980s and the place is utterly fascinating.

Apologies for the pretty shit, pretty small amount of pictures but I do have shit loads more to upload so keep an eye on this thread if you like that kind of thing.

This is outside, has been for a while now I think. Doesn't look like it's going to be restored which leads me to think it's going to be kept as a spares source for something fantastic inside the museum. More of that later.

This sounder very 'un-Minor' like and was driven very enthusiastically by someone who I think works at the place

And finally (for now) you can't go somewhere like this without buying something. This looks like it'll keep me occupied for a while yet, there's some brilliant pictures in there

Hey that does look like a superb old joint.

Anywhere with a crusty Landcrab sat outside gets a big ten-four from me!

Headache?

How the f*ck did I miss the sign

Landcrabs, hey?

I forgot this was my other favourite there and was probably what the car outside was being saved for:

Looks a great place, what's the building it's based in? Looks like a big old concrete affair.

An old waterworks, Tim.

I love museums like this, low budget ones with lots of tat about, The white BMW 525i on your Flickr is a gorgeous car, I've got a right craving for one at the moment.

Mouldsworth is excellent. Did the bloke who runs / owns the place collar you and tell you lots of things about the Art Deco movement? Nice bloke.

Looks to be well worth a visit.

Seeing that book on Victoria Coach Station brought back lots of memories of getting the night coach to Birkenhead, and the return journey.

I remember when their coaches seemed to be on par with the original Magic Bus service...

He did, Pete. Really nice bloke as said, he also showed me in the back bit (not been in there before) as he had a couple of old bikes he thought I'd want to see. It's only open for two more Sundays this year as he said the winter break is because they have no heating and it's bitterly cold in there.
