Metro shite Corgi model free to first pm

Just rescued it from a load of "Granny toys" that were going to the charity shop.

Sort of big Matchbox size not 1/43.

Opening doors, tow bar, no rust or giffer dents just a bit of rubbing on raised edges.

Metallic greyish.

Just for that, have a rather nice poverty spec Mk2 that I spied in Sainsburys car park this week...

Note the blanking grommet for the rear wiper, same for the aerial hole in the front wing, has a blanking plate for the radio too - god that must be a miserable drive.

That'll be the Corgi 1/36 scale Metro, I have 3 and its a super little model. I have a 2 red and 1 blue one. I've not seen a silver one before, just a white racing one and the purple one celebrating Princess Diana or something.

 

Just seen the above pic, Mum_L had an identical G reg one but in 5 door. No centre face vents or clock either. Only had it a year as the gearbox was busted. Our neighbours also bought a 1.3 Clubman model in the same colour a few months later. The bastards.

I think it'll be a Corgi Juniors as that has a towbar & the bigger one doesn't.I do like the bigger one though,I've got a P.O. van version

Ah so it is as the big one has opening boot too. The wee one is ace also, got quite a few of them too. Always wanted the PO Van one. I painted one of mine black with red.pinstripe and a sort of octagonal badge like an MG version!

Arrived today - thank ye very much though I think its more Moonstone blue than grey.

 

Im not sure what to do with it, whether to paint it up as my old Mk2 or whether to restore it to Moonstone.... Hmmm decisions decisions...

Why was this free? Had some Mini-lover bummed it for its engine and front hubs for their model Mini or something?

I had a white one of these with all the badges picked out in green highlighter pen.

 

Sadly, when I was about ten I filled it with meths and bits of old paper and set it on fire to recreate something I saw on 999.

I'm glad it has found a good home. I hope the blue ones were really rare and you can sell it on ebay for more than a real metro.
