I’ve just registered after umming ahhing about by joining here for a long time.

I don’t know if it’s standard policy to introduce yourself here, so apologies if I’ve already cheesed you all off.

I’m a Rover man, as my name suggests, and I come from Keith Adam's barmy army on AROnline (if you haven’t heard of the site, do check it out).

My taste caters form everything from BMWs to Cavaliers, to Range Rovers to Talbot Horizons.

I read Haynes manuals for fun and enjoy embarrassing my friends by looking at Rover 75s in car parks :D

Look forwards to getting to know you all.

Welcome. We all love a bit of Keith's BINI/CHINKY-Online.

Let's see some pics of what ya got...

Welcome along.

I too like looking at Rover 75's in car parks, usually when (the wife says) I'm meant to be looking at something else, usually in Next Home or something.

Welcome to the site Partridge. Are you related to the Ford Probe driving Gareth Cheeseman by any chance?

Anyhow, like yourself, I too am a Rover man, but more towards the lesser-remembered 800s rather than the celebrated 75s and SD1s:

All of my current fleet. I have had a couple of other 800s too.

Hey everyone. Thanks for the warm welcome. I think I’m going to like it here.

Actually I drive a boring, reliable Polo but I’m planning on changing that. Been looking at 75s, some Citroen XMs a Triumph Acclaim (too small, sadly) , but I’m open to suggestions :)

I don’t know of a Gareth Cheeseman but I am familiar with the Ford Probe. I’ll admit it now. I used to like them.

I have considered the smaller Rovers (eg 45/400, 25 is too small) but they’re really a bit too small for my needs (you try putting two Dobermans in a Polo, it’s not easy). If a “new smaller Rover†means an MG6, I did try to test drive one for the sake of it but the dealership was too busy to answer me...

Nice P6! Daily driver?

And I have even been known to go “Rover Hunting†to avoid going in shops, slipping out when she’s looking at the scented candles ‘Just going to have a look round, won’t be long'. Garden centres seem to be good for mint, post project drive 75’s for some reason.

Lord Sterling, I remember you and your many Sterlings from AROnline. Nice to see a picture of the other two.

I think I’ve covered everything.

Kiss my face,

A.P

I was thinking of this:

Seriously? The MG dealer couldn't be bothered to sort a test drive for you? Not a good start for them is it?

Ah-ha! Welcome along; surely a 75 Tourer or ZT-T would be ideal? Plenty of choice out there.

@ Red Sparrow.

I’m not unique...there’s plenty of MG6 sob stories out there. Good cars, awful sales and marketing team. At least, I think it’s good car because I can’t test drive one, let alone say I own one. :? But it’s too early in the day to get depressed so I’ll stop there...

Ah...well I am NOT driving one of them. I can’t even fit in one.

@ Creeping Jesus. A Rover 75 will probably be what I end up getting. I’ve looked at a few 75 Tourers and seem to “click†with them. I get the car, and the car gets me.

My girlfriend thinks I should get a Jag, if she wants to pay for my fuel and servicing, then great. And there’s not many XJ estates around, unless I get an Avon Jag

Or a Lynx Eventer, with bonus spurious tailgate bodged onto it...

Or one (cough) of these.....

Oooh, that’s rather nice. That’s looks really good in bronze. I saw a trashed/bodged restoration one of those on Car & Classic the other day.
