Heyyyyy, I've been to the le Mans Calssic ths weekend, OK not the best destination if youre looking for shite, but its out there if you leave the granstand behind! Check out these bad muthaz:

Posted Image

Marcos mantis

Posted Image

Mini marcos humping its own parent! Wrong on all levels, plus I bet this is fun to drive on a windy day.

Posted Image

Lovely Celica

Posted Image

Opel Kapitan? Not sure what model it is really.

Posted Image

4-dr SM! Mother!

Posted Image

This guy was displaying classic public schoolmaster attire.

More later, my computer seems to have gone on the blink meaning i cant upload any more

Posted

Opel could be a Diplomat, Admiral or Kapitan depending on the engine. Styling very reminiscent of the mid-60s US GM intermediates. That 4 door SM can only be described in one word: Presidential! I'd much prefer to see those plying the streets here full of drunken hen parties than the usual cruddy stretch Lincolns and Hummers.

Celica is lovely. :D What was powering that ugly Marcos? V6, V8...?

MAZDA 323F

Posted Image

VAUXHALL CAVALIER

Posted Image

Is the 'what' thing a Matra? Remember them from a book when I was young, challenging proportions.

Seem to recall the Celica from JAE's of years gone by, maybe used to belong to Steve Mann? Was very low mileage (at the time) if that is the one.

Amused by the Viva HB couple. Gone to all the trouble of driving to another country in something that's not ideal for Continental travel, then they still sit there at the back of their car

Looking forward to more pic's, especially the people selection.

Fantastic place! Always somewhere I've wanted to go - another one to add to my mythical list, when funds and time permit. The Matra is a 530 I think. Interesting to see so many British plated cars too, what sort of distance would they have covered to get down there?Any more pics? Babes in particular really.

Are Marchal still going? Vicsmith needs some yellow spotlamps on his 180 and as they made the headlights, presumably they'd do the spotlamps too.

How did they manage to make the Mantis so fugly? The regular Marcos GT is quite pretty.

Mr Bollox you wind up - Im off on Holiday to Le-mans in 3 weeks, you have reminded me I have 3 weeks work! What's the classic like, done the current 24 quite a few times, but really fancy this - 2010 roll on! Loving that SM 8) I can reccomend this gaff too - it takes about 5 hours from the channel to get there.

Posted

Looking at that HB, I love the way the British on a day out take folding canvas chairs and sit next to their cars. Even when they've driven all the way to France

Posted

Posted Image

How nice is this old 5-series? Answer: very. Imagine one of these in this condition with a newish straight-six diesel - what a daily that would be. Lovely.

Posted Image

505 V6 international towing rig. Brilliant!

Posted Image

Impossibly rare MG ZT-T V8 tourer! I dont know how many of these were made but I believe it barely cracked into 3 figures. 2004's coolest production car?

Posted Image

Flaminia Tourer, just utterly beautiful. I believe buckley's dad restored a black one of these a few years ago to a lovely standard, I wonder if it is this one.

Posted Image

An unusual choice of car upon which to max one's halfords storecard. Revolting.

Posted Image

Love these, too cool for school man.

Posted

Some more obscurities:

Posted Image

Glas 1700 GT, awesome. Just too obscure for words.

Posted Image

OSI 20M TS. XXX-rated Italo-german oddity. TOO RARE

Posted Image

OMG Another one! YOU'RE KILLIN ME UP HERE, MAN

Posted Image

Lancia Scorpion

Posted Image

This is a 'Hommel' - a french fibreglass wonder with a 405 Mi16 ebngine i think. Dunno much else about it, looks cool though.

Posted Image

Ronart, dont really know owt about it. GRP was a bit wobbly but better than most.

Posted

Celica is lovely. :D What was powering that ugly Marcos? V6, V8...?

It has a 2498cc engine, I suppose that would be the 2.5 Granada engine.

Simca 1000 koop. I bet these are a hoot to rag about in, look ace as well.

Maseratis, in order of shiteness:

Posted Image

Bora - Not shite.

Posted Image

Khamsin- Also 0% shite, although it does have a citroen hydraulic system for brakes, steering etc which may confer some shite points.

Posted Image

Frua QP - Not shite either, but a lot cheaper than the Bora or Khamsin.

Posted Image

228 I think? Starting to look mildly shite now, spesh with that body kit on.

Posted Image

Biturbo Spyder. FAST, RED, ITALIAN AND SEXY - WHAT ELSE DOES THE BITURBO SPYDER NEED? (1987 Autocar cover slogan). Rusty playboy shite.

Posted Image

Early Biturbo 2-door - Maseratis greatest moment in shite terms (excluding the 4-door). My favourite!

Posted Image

Flaminia Zagato. Too much!

Posted

Nice work in getting the Ro80 snuck into the Flaminia Tourer shot.Looking at that, the OSI’s the Glas and others makes me wonder whether delicate, elegant car design is dead. Not macho enough? Difficult to do with modern crash reg’s? I suppose that modern Quattroporte comes closest, but there’s something not quite 100% in the headlight department.I’d disagree about the Khamsin’s shite quotient, even without the Citroen gubbins I’d say it’s at least 65%.

Posted

The Flaminias and the Frua Maser (hey, it's Dutch!) have got me jumping up and down (on the inside), gorgeousness on wheels.(The Glas is a BMW 1600GT)

Posted

There were a couple of OSIs on ebay last year I think - one from a dealer (Justin Banks?) and another do-er-upper with a host of missing parts. They are truly DA BIZ, as is that Simca which has a startling resemblance to the Fiat 850 coupe.

Posted

Brill pictures. I like the odd proportions of the Maz Frua QP, and the headlights look a bit out of place - but a very pretty car IMO!

Posted

Heres a few more, I took about 100000000000003 pics.

Posted Image

Lovely renner 8! I would love to give one of these, or a 10, a whirl just to see what theyre like. Probably not a million miles off a Skoda Estelle? I understand the skud engine is a development of an old reno effort, correct me if i am wrong of course.

Posted Image

This porsche appeared to have begun melting at both ends.

Posted Image

Spyker - megabucks, yet weapons-grade SHITE. Theres just no reason to buy one!

Posted Image

ZBLOOOOF!!! Lovely Tatra tat.

Posted Image

Merc 500E... class.

Posted

I like the number plate on the Merc. :D Also early Vignale Tatra - lovely. 8)

Posted

That nice blue Celica was parked outside my house last weekend, fella said he had just been to le mans. small world.

Posted

That Renault is gorgeous 8) ,my Dad had an 8S in about 1984,it was the 1st car I drove on the road :) .If I remember correctly, they were the 1st mass produced car to have disc brakes all round :o

Posted

Fantastic pics. Don't even know where to begin. ITS ALL TOO MUCH, MAN.
