MG Metro anyone?

Recommended Posts

I took my van for mot today and saw this MG Metro sitting in the yard, so being an autoshiter i took a pic to post up on here.

the guy came out and says it belongs to garage and is for sale for £400 with a full mot.

it didn't look too bad when i had a quick look round it, but if anyone is interested i can pass on the guys number and who knows you might be able to haggle with him.

only got one pic

Location etc?

Looks like a bit of a bargain at that price with full ticket?

That is a serious barg, unless some mini twats have already nicked its engine

seen worse for twice the price, but it is a london car, could be full of parking dents and OMG SPEEDBUMP SUMP SCRAPES

Bargain - get in here quickly before the Mini boys rob it in an attempt to make up for their inadequacies

I hope someone gets this, it needs saving and looks a better bargain then the 1983 one i was offered for £1000 recently.

At this rate, there could be an autoshite bidding war. Shall we all chip in a tenner and have it as the Forum hack?

Me wanty muchy for me wifey. The Autoshite love for this is building, but Maxpower is apparently trapped under a heavy object somewhere. Maxp, check in!

A 1275 engine is worth almost the price of the whole car to a Mini enthusiast,so it wouldn't suprise me if this did have its workings removed; It would be a shame though if it is a genuine MG and is fairly salvagable to renovate back to its former glory

Being a London car will probably mean half the rust of one from the sticks, and being East London the interior will smell of jellied eels and strangled tarts.

Whoever buys the car could do well to commission a large sculpture, in cast iron, of a hairy cock and balls to weld securely onto the engine block adjacent to the distributor. This of course would mean a Mini would need a big hole in the grill to accommodate the Metro lump. with a hairy cock poking out. Could backfire and start a scene thing mind, leading to plastic BINI grill gherkins.

It is well unsporting to come on here and fire up our appetites for Metro Chod, and then boogah off and not tell us where the heap is.

Doing you a favour really, if all the contact details/location had been posted up it'd be on someone's drive by now minus an engine.

Posted

Hey max don't leave these guys hanging.

There has just been yet another solid one minus engine put in the ebay thread. Don't let it happen when there are several here who want to save it!

As I said elsewhere it really concerns me now as there are not enough left for every mini owner to have one to ruin.

Sadly most Metro's were ruined by tinworm, but good ones are a really nice addition to a collection, though I'm more of a VP person myself

If we all buy it, we can be like Sheldon Cooper and the gang in the episode of "The Big Bang Theory" in which they all buy the Time Machine.

Good idea, mither the hell out of him to get contact details and then state you 'may' go and have a look this week. 1.7/19.
