Noel Tidybeard Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 try again without flash- will show up the lighting of dash pretty well
Zelandeth Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 IMG_20180212_175902.jpg Vehicle of mystery.Hyundai Lantra? I'm sure I recognise that from somewhere but can't quite pin it down.
Tadhg Tiogar Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 try again without flash- will show up the lighting of dash pretty well I'll have to wait for another night, then....
Zelandeth Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 IMG_20180212_175902.jpg Vehicle of mystery. In fact no...I revise my previous guess and change it to early 2000s Kia Magentis. Final answer.
red5 Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 Ooh no. Right area... It’s a hatch, smallest engine option. Was offered on here....
HH-R Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 It's got the same fuel and temp gauge that seemingly every Japanese car had in the 90s but the font looks Hyundai. High spec Accent?
red5 Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 It's got the same fuel and temp gauge that seemingly every Japanese car had in the 90s but the font looks Hyundai. High spec Accent?Nope. Deffo ‘proper FarEast’ sewing machine manufacturers...
Zelandeth Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 Proton? Haven't been in one of those since an MPi so wouldn't have a clue! Given usual tendency to use cast off Mitsubishi bits, would fit with the fuel and temp gauges... Struggling here without resorting to Googling every far east car!
Zelandeth Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 Toyota Carina??Pretty sure the Carina didn't have the vertically stacked gauges.
Tadhg Tiogar Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 Nope.Deffo ‘proper FarEast’ sewing machine manufacturers...Only Toyota, then. Starlet?
red5 Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 Toyota yes - late 1990's. Blimey, they ARE bland
Stebob Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 Also is the daddy wagon a ford galaxy I.e. vw clocks in Ford colours, looks very similar to what my mk4 golfs clocks were like..... Steve
red5 Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 Look like celica clocks to me....SteveBob on young man.

Tadhg Tiogar Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 much brightness^^^Was that alright? It took several attempts just to get that one! Something to do with lack of focus.....

Talbot Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 Not sure. Looks late 80's / early 90's Japanese and Turbocharged.
alcyonecorporation Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 I reckon S12 Silvia at a semi-educated guess. Or maybe a T12 or T72 Bluey turbo or Executive.
Zelandeth Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 The Japanese at that time were really bloody good at making incredibly clean looking backlit dashboards weren't they? For all there were a lot of interesting designs about at the time, I can't think of any other source of any which came close for how well polished the instrumentation looked after dark.

Zelandeth Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 My current rental wheels on holiday. 2018 Nissan Pathfinder SL V6. Surprisingly nice actually! Really struggling to criticise it beyond "because it's an SUV" and wishing I could set it so the damn horn didn't sound every time you lock the thing... it's downright embarrassing when you get back to the resort late. PhilA Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Close all the doors, hold the lock and unlock buttons on the fob down together until the indicators flash a few times. That should shut it up. Repeat to re-enable. Phil

Repeat to re-enable. PhilThanks for that! Will try that in the morning. Really is my only gripe with it aside from the sheer size of the thing...but we specifically wanted a 7-seater and they couldn't guarantee that in any other form factor. It's a comfy old bus anyhow.
