vulgalour Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Enjoyable thread is enjoyable. At first I thought this unknown custom... ...might be a 55/56 Packard Patrician with a considerable amount of bodywork. I'm less certain when comparing the red custom with a base model on Google. Maybe it's Packard parts blended on to another car instead?
Spiny Norman Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Some lovely looking motors there, (red Tranny van for one) but some fucking abortions as well.
michiel Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Nice shots. I quite like YUK (except for the bar on its bum) and compared to the standard one for sale in Holland (well I think it's sold now after quite some time) at around 8k euro it's not too dear... Love that A40 too.
sporty-shite Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 This is pretty much perfect. Love it. And that Maestro van...... Every time I see it, it hurts my eyes, but I don't think you can knock the quality of the finish.
trigger Posted August 29, 2012 Author Posted August 29, 2012 Now this is where things get weird... Justin Case Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Once again a superb set Trig, thanks for making the effort to post them here I wouldn't cross the road to see most of the British rods, something seems so wrong about the proportions and the wheels, but I'm a great fan of 40s US pick-ups. I would be happy to any of the ones there home, but particularly this one : However, sometimes you just can't beat stock, especially when it look like this
Albert Ross Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 This would appear to be a 1955 Plymouth Savoy, Plaza or Belvedere.
Gompo Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Looks like a great show with some interesting cars. One day I might have a replica of Face's Corvette. Cheers.
eddyramrod Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Thanks Trig! I've seen that A40 before, on the A40 club's own site, but it's always worth another visit, it looks very well done. As does the PA, although I don't think it quite works, somehow. Something just looks wrong; start with the wheels, perhaps, and play it by ear from there. Wonder if the builder of the 2-door Sceptre was trying to copy? For me, that actually looked better. Excellent collection, as always.
Paul H Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Great write-up 740 Turbo powered Riley.Volvo Turbo Powered 1953 Riley RM by Trigger's Retro Road Tests!, on Flickr Volvo Turbo Powered 1953 Riley RM by Trigger's Retro Road Tests!, on Flickr Do you know any more about this?
trigger Posted September 2, 2012 Author Posted September 2, 2012 Sadly not Paul, I saw it first at the same show last year where it was showing as untaxed since 1978, I think it was a barn find which had the Volvo lump fitted to get it back on the road, i really like it myself. Morgan84 Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 The green pick-up looks really well done, and the colour suits it well
vulgalour Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Invacar, Capri and Riley all get a big thumbs up from me, and good to see someone with better knowledge of 50s American cars (which all look the same anyway ) has picked out a liklier contender than I had.
