bigstraight6 Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Well, its been a while since I last saw a UMM and this example was seen today in Somerset is still in use! what a lovely looking vehicle
Split_Pin Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 I remember them from a holiday in Portugal in the mid 90's, when I went on a 'Jeep' safari-type-thing.I think the engine is under the bulkhead IIRC???
MrRegieRitmo Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Great spot.....but Umm - I think this has also gotta be a contender!..... Thats cool as you like, even comes with 'DACIA' Overalls! Well worth 250 if you ask me. No arse end shots BS6?
Baz Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 My Duster was a pretty awful car....Yet I kinda liked it....Wierd, huh? Often wish I'd gone for the "Roadster" instead of the estate though....Still crap, but more fun! I was offered a UMM Alter like that (but red) F.O.C. about five years ago....Just in need of a replacement Peugeot engine, otherwise looking pretty good....I had a driveway full at the time, so had to decline!
andrew e Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 The UMM is where the phrase "Portugeuese hand pump" comes from
wuvvum Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 I saw one o' them on the A47 on the way back from Peterborough a couple of weeks ago. White one it was. Looked in pretty good nick too. Other than that I haven't seen any right-hookers for a very long while.
Guest Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Heres the one I spotted-They make the Lada Niva look like a Range Rover vogue dont they
Cavcraft Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 That's wonderful. You can almost see it laughing in the face of doors or any other form of luxury!
Milford Cubicle Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 3 wipers! My overwhelming memory of these is a local gamekeeper owning one from new up until about the mid '90s, by then ravaged by rust. I'm surprised any still survive. But I've seen Subaru MVs in a similar state and plenty of them survive in decent condition.
Ross_K Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Oustanding. I love the round pin 13A socket and the ignition wire dangling down from under the dash. GR8 4 HOTWIRING (AND A HOT CUPPA ON THE GO).
