I arrived at the Pony seller's home in Walsall about five minutes before Phil did, just time enough for a poke around.

We pulled in again at the end of Andy2.0's road to pap this, and check we were on the right track.

 

 

That's where the plug-in hybrid BX didn't want to start again, but we were soon on the road for the last five minutes to the comedy address.

I tagged onto the back of the convoy to the museum...

 

 

...so as not to smoke anyone out.

 

 

But the line split, and I was left behind in some random town. Luckily Phil answered his phone and I found them at the museum.

 

 

These two led the line of tat. What did leafy Wiltshire think, I wonder?

 

 

We had a wonder around the Armstrong Siddeley and Bristol owners club motors, which were there for the day. A bit over my head I'm afraid...

 

 

 

 

 

Once inside, RobT fell in 'LOV' with this Maxi.

 

 

We were given a guided tour of Issigonis's personal car, a 1500 gearless Mini.

And back on the lonely journey North at a fairly steady 60mph, I managed 49.5mpg, which is not bad considering I only usually get low 30's up hill and down dale on my short journeys near to home.

 

A big thank you to everyone for coming, I could thank each and everyone individually but that'd bore the rest of you. I was SO lucky to be free to go myself. Highlight of the year for sure.

 

 

But special thanks of course to Andy2.0 for bringing it all together. Just for you, a Lancia Lybra spotted on my way home. Happy days.

I'm loving these photo updates, that old couple with the Corgi was brilliant, I bet they owned that rusty old Armstrong having owned it since new and only getting getting it out the garage on special occasions.

 

It was also good to see Seths Hillman at long last, It look quite at home park on a suburban street opposite these houses.

Was desperately ringing round workmates on Friday afternoon asking them to cover my shift on Saturday so I could come down with Joe but they were all at some gig in Milton Keynes.
