Been offline for a few days, so... well done! XM Estates are bloody handsome things and one of my planned future guilty pleasures, once I'm earning stupid amounts of money and have started on The Sauce again.

Top work!

I've an a couple of XMs over the last five years or so. Their reputation as money pits is a bit overstated I think. They're not that expensive to run, and certainly cheap enough to buy. Find a good one and look after it and they can make surprisingly reliable shite. I drove 600 miles in a day in one a couple of years ago and I can't think of many other cars I'd like to do that in.

Great work Messerschmitt! I 'd really love to see the full leather interior of this car.

Incidently, I found a G-plate V6 XM that been parked up for while, I got caught papping it and the seriously old Commer van that were parked up in a garden. I asked the owners elderly wife if it was for sale, apparently it is:

I can grab some details if you or anyone else is interested, though it'll have to be next weekend or something as I'm working all week.

give me details of the XM V6 and I will spread the word - looks like a £200 scrap car to me though.

Not sure the XM leather is as sumptuous as the Rover's - it is all black - but it is a lovely place to be seated.

MoT booked for Wednesday, arranging to visit and collect the XM tomorrow. With luck, the MoT won't throw anything serious at me.

mentioned it on the XM forum.

How long's that been sat there?

Moss growing under it, and probably growing inside too if it's been sat there in the rain with that passenger side window open.

The owner has taken the trouble to SORN it though - maybe he thinks he'll get it back on the road some day...

The weighbridge beckons.

The weighbridge beckons.

not before some parts are rescued - but I think that's the ultimate destination - sooner rather than later.

Good luck with the MoT Campbell :)

There's a very early one local to me too that I've been eyeing up for years, exact same as this apart from the moss growth (it's been parked up for ages)

The owner looks a bit fierce though so I've never had the guts to approach him about it!

Hope the MOT goes OK Campbell. Nice looking car that, and quite a useful tool with that load bay I'd guess.

Will it actually swallow a Messerschmitt whole?

It wouldn't swallow it whole but it would swallow a whole one! (in parts!)

That red V6 does look seriously dead. I wonder what expensive fault will send the owners late 1990s Audi A8 into a similar spot, half on driveway, half in flowerbed!
