Reading that again, I think you are right. It's only if you watch live, but to me it's all or nothing, either you watch all programmes online without a license or have to have one for the internet, on the off chance you stumble across iplayer. Guess which one the BBC will be pushing for?

In this day and age it irritates me to be FORCED to pay for the beeb. I pay for Sky which gives me shitloads of (admittedly fairly ropey)channels for what I pay and I'm happy with that, so why should I be forced to take a service that I'm really not all that fussed for?Its particularly annoying that because they've now decided to broadcast online they want me to pay on the off chance I stumble on their website. There's no reason that they cant make it password protected so that those who choose to subscribe can access it.

What everyone seems to miss is this isn't just one Marina destroyed - it's a demonstration that 'old cars are shit.' It says there's no point in looking after old cars. It's ok to destroy something just to wind someone else up. THAT'S what angers me.

If you already have Sky it's fairly easy to get Sky+ for £30 (or even free but I was happy to pay £30) by phoning the cancellations department. I told them I liked the sound of Sky+ but it seemed awfully expensive and I was going to get Freeview with a PVR instead.It's a superb system, shame the programmes are such dross.

People have mentioned to me it's easy to wrangle stuff out of them but I was sceptical, not least in my own ability to pull off a deal or haggle with them but also whether they would actually back down or call my bluff!

I know where you're coming from but this sets a precendent in a way that those peple don't, since they have such a large audience they are broadasting to the masses that it is ok to destroy these old cars. The masses lap it up and will reflect this in their actions.Another pint that annoys me about the whole shaningans is that people scream when cars like evos are destroyed even when they have to be destroyed anyway and then this happens with a perfectly servicable car that has been lovingly cared for and is a part of our motoring heritage they go oh well its shite so why care!m0rris

Spot on. Except I know Marinas are shit as I owned three many years back and still receive therapy after the God awful heaps of shite BUT....Top Gear actually want people to be up in arms over this kind of things, no such thing as bad publicity and all that as you suggested.I find it flits between what appear to be a bunch of snobs acting all public schoolboy on us and burning our licence fee, and being fairly entertaining.I'd no more trust Top Gear to give an accurate and unbiased report on an average humdrum family car than I would inserting my pork sword into a cannibal whore's mouth. But then I don't think TG actually do run of the mill cars so it's back to being a public schoolboy's fantasy show.
