But not really. I bought back my 128 from this guy in Dublin, who had three large sheds full of motors.

Wow!, That is one very nice collection, What's the Tickford Granada all about?, I've never heard of one before?

Tickford was a tuning arm of Aston Martin, bought by DB in the 50s - hence the winged badge. They'd been building specials for years before that. They built and sold a Tickford Capri and Tickford Metro. I think the Granada is a one-off.

Owned by a member of the royal family, wasn't it?

Yeah, registered at Sandringham as far as I know. Google images show only my photos from Flickr and I can't find any other info about it.

Wow - your pics didn't open the last time I looked at this thread. Those are brilliant, thanks.

I was lucky enough to have a look at his collection last year, AH is a great guy and what a collection. My faves were the Lotus Carlton and 131 Sport.

IIRC The Granny estate was owned by prince Charles, he had it painted in the same colour as his Aston Martin.

At great cost, of course.

Looks like they lopped the top off a car from the 1930s and just stuck it on in a vain attempt at streamlining that brick on wheels shape.:lol:

No doubt there's a turbo'd Rover V8 or something under the bonnet?

That Granada is fiiiiiiit and I want it. Lots.

However, the magazine article has as always cocked up. "Stock 13-inchers". No. That came from the factory on TRX rims and appears to still have 'em, so the "standard 13-inchers" are 15.35".

WTF can't magazines care about what they print?

Fiat 130 for me, saloon or coupe, doesn't matter. Failing that, Anglia van please! :D

130 saloon for me.

I like the orange 131 Supermirafiori (?) too but would prefer it as factory spec.

Tickford were also the firm that did the work to convert the TA40 Celica Coupe into the Griffith Sunchaser. Griffith International commissioned them to weld the underbody stiffeners, cut off the roof and fit/trim the targa kit that was brought over from the States. It's believed between 20 or 30 were done between 1981 and 1983 on both new and secondhand cars.

Here are two of the ones I own.
