Mitsubishi Tredia.

There are a few Cordias but Tredias seem to have become pretty much extinct and especially the Turbo version. There is a LHD one that MikeD of this parish owned for a while but it was imported from Belgium in the 90s so doesn't count in that it's not an original UK car. The last one I saw was down our street in the late 80s.

I dont see why so few Mitsis youd think they'd have a following, theres no Jap in my lineup but ive a few ideas now, and weirdly the jap im most thinking of is Australian. But a tredia or cordia, or a subaru xt would fit the bill. Thing with me and cars tho - they rarely turn up at the right time!

There was a Subaru XT parked up a mile or so from me,I'll have a look tomorrow & see if it's still there :)

Can't imagine that many Volvo 260s are still knocking about. I last saw one in 1994.

I saw one outside Abingdon in the summer, wasn't in too bad nick and was for sale by the side of the road... I had no idea what it was so assumed it to be a weird 240.

Is it possible that there are no RHD Yugo Sanas left in existence?

I have to say that the Howmanyleft site is probably 'reasonably' accurate for post mid 70s chod, i.e. the era after DVLA originally computerised. Most new UK vehicles would have been registered more or less correctly, perhaps less so for imports. However it wouldn't be much cop for estimating stuff that existed (unlicensed) in storage before the SORN rules came in round about 1998, which means that someone somewhere possesses a Lonsdale estate, probably one that their granny gave up driving 15 or 20 years ago. Live in hope! :)

It appears that the photo is one off Flickr and representational only. The lack of a correct photo and the words "good condition for year" lead me to think it may be a shed especially as it's been off the road 20 years!

OK then. Mazda Montrose?

bit late on this thread but can there be many Fiat Tempras left?

I haven't seen one recently...

How many Ranchos still exist I wonder..?

I know where there's a mint 264. It was for sale a while back.

As for the XT, my mate Nev owns one but has sold it on. The new owner collects it next week.

I've spoke to the Zastava Yugo owners club about the Sana, they have at least 3 currently. Also that young lad from Practical Classics has one, i was told? Also I can vouch for a few Ranchos, was offered one last year and there is a nice one when I attend Simca/ Talbot events

One just up the road from me:

(Although hasn't actually been on the road for quite some time... )

You need to buy that, get it back on the road and then drive it up the A92.

Thirty miles north of Dundee will be far enough if you don't want to go all the way to Stonehaven.

My mates got one (a silver 265 estate) in his yard, can't see it going back on the road though. It's been standing a good 4 or 5 years now.

Unless some Peugeot perv wants it MOT'd so he can transfer the plate - A123 PUG :D , if I remember correctly.

I think that Sam Glover has one stashed away in his Volvo 200 store :)

The reddish one? I thought he sold a few years ago.

Not sure, to be honest - Been sitting in someone's drive for all the time I've lived here, next to the Marina.

Some quick interweb stalking shows that it:

Was first registered June 1981

Has a 1586cc engine

Has only had 2 previous keepers

Tax expired July 1994, so we can assume it's been off the road since at least then, for almost 18 years.

I'll try and get some better shots of it next time I'm passing - It looks to be fairly complete...?

You'd be better off doing a deal on the one on eBay. If it doesn't meet reserve that is.
