Why do I find such shite irresistible?

Face palm. Having said that , I have the very same model, battered and crudely repainted by my dad as a kid with whatever paint my Grandpa had at the time, likely from the shipyards where he worked and I love it!

You took the only course of action possible faced with such an attrition.  Buying it.

ROFLCOPTER at that exhaust. I'm currently modifying yet more Vanguards mk2 Escorts, including one that went horribly wrong and I'm now making new windows for. I ordered the pale blue one from someone on egay, and shock of shocks it arrived 2 days later...It's giving me something to do whilst on the pat & mick.

The horribly wrong project might get aborted, just not happy with how it looks, the pale blue un on the other hand, that needs one or two little tweaks and I will be happy. Photos to follow during the daytime

Weld a Chitty Chitty Bang Bang side pipe to it, dip your finger in green paint and run it across the roof.   There is plenty of us on here who would buy it.....

Project shitbox, the spares donor Escort mk2 Vanguards model, in it's gopping state, pictures don't do justice at how bad it is. 'Tetraseal' style front valance, and BVR

My lovely Russian Model Lada Riva is dying of Zinc Pest and it has left a hole in my Soviet collection.

Does anyone have any type of Lada saloon for sale ( Fiat 124/5, Zhighuli, Riva type) for sale? I'd really like one again.

I could spare you one of the Poundland Lada yellow copcars if that's any help...

I will check my Lada collection Iain, as I have a few models

From a Faceache Diecast group, arrived today wrapped in so much packaging it's unreal, box is in pretty good shape, model is top drawer too, complete with wonky stickers, go Italian build quality, and what the flippin nora was Bburago's deal with no steering wheels in this era?

Ive never seen that 9 in anything other than yellow. I have that one, but its in the early black and rainbow box. Great wee thing!

This came from Scotlandshire, and it was under a fiver, someone was asking roughly the same price for an unboxed, de-stickered one with a missing headlight!

A current WIP, old Bburago Alfa 33, had to clean the casting up a fair bit as it had weird bubbles in, and was scratched to buggery. Need to add a steering wheel to the interior, which is tomorrow's job, next on the list, a bburago Fiat Teapot which needs painting and a bloody steering wheel putting in.

I had the 33 as a kid, dont have it now so must have been victim to the Great Swappage Scheme in 1988 😕

I have a new You Tube Channel called Test Drive Diecast. I conduct in depth reviews of all scales and grades of models, mainly shite.

In that vein I have so far featured a Bburago 1/24 scale Renault 14, Solido 1/18 scale Citroen XM, 1/18 Rover 75, 1/43 Corgi Morris Minors (interesting early 1988 first release examples) and a Bburago RR Camargue. There are others too and I'll add more each week.

Take a look if you have time.

Here is the link to the 75:

Fabulous, just read your Phaeton Review and I think we both agree on a lot of things. You have worded it far more eloquently that I did though! Faved your page for further study 😀
