It's pretty tedious to post this shit here, because this forum either has no, or I don't know of any, mass uploading tewl.

Anyway, my reward, people telling me they aren't interested in something I have no influence in, is well worth it.

IXO

They are releasing some stuff they did as 1:8 scale partworks in form of ready made models and kits.

They call it the "Diamant 8" series.

Junkman: I'd like to thank your spy for his efforts on our behalf.  It's just a shame the makers aren't listening to the customers.  Supercars?  Classic Shortlist?  Moderns?

Deep sigh.

Posted

So far it's been suspiciously underwhelming. As if they hold back deliberately.

And we haven't even been in the save the fucking oceans section yet.

Posted

Whoa whoa whoa - there was a whole shelf of Lada Samaras back there somewhere. Ixo and Neo look a bit more promising amongst all the moderns and same-old supercars.

Posted

Yeah, thanks JM.....I have little interest in ever buying that kind of stuff (always been a toy, rather than model, collector) but that doesn't stop it being damned interesting to look at.

Posted

Indeed thank you for sharing JM. KK scale or whatever they are called looks like a very interesting lot there.

The rest look like high end money machines, collectors of which are exactly the type I now know to avoid.

I must go to the Fair someday.

We are all sighing I think, I may buy Oxford's upcoming 1/43 scale 1950s coach, as it sounds interesting., anyhow, daft twat diecast time, the Onion has been repaired uing Blu Tac and the headlampo lens from a fecked Fiat Marea. If my red Astra I ordered ever arrives, this might get pissed about with

Really?   That sounds ambitious.   Very few PSVs in that kind of scale spring to mind!

Cheers FM.    Got absolutely no room for anything that size now (unless a Duple SB is forthcoming...) but be nice to see one, nevertheless.

Usefully, the Mercury wagon interior fits inside the Cadillac ambulance with a bit of trimming and doesn't look monstrously out of place.  Next will be to decide what colour to paint it, I'm considering dark metallic red at the moment.

and afterwards:

This one was a bit more work than usual. When it emerged from the soup it was missing an A-pillar. Several models had been stripped at once, so the pillar was able to slip down the drain un-noticed.

post-17021-0-16446500-1548978693_thumb.jpg

No matter, that just means there's nothing to lose! I hunted down a tiny bit of metal and filed it to shape. A little bit of filling, filling and sanding had it looking reasonable...

post-17021-0-24131100-1548978727_thumb.jpg

...and be honest, did you notice it in the 'finished' picture?

Posted

That's an impressive repair, A pillars are an absolute bugger to get looking that right.

That was quick work!  Well done sir!

Apparently there will be a Solido nostalgia partworks series somewhere.

Are you in the toy trade?

This is not a public fair and in order to get a pass, you have to submit your company registration, or a letter from your employer.

The only one around here who could possibly attend is Mr Lobster.

Looks like I'll be relying on your annual updates. As a measure of how much I dislike the toy trade, I'd rather be in the 1/1 motor trade.
