that woud be about the time that the last few 1/18's in my collection got sold on, for literally a few quid each......

Not quite 1/18......but Mrs Rocker picked this up for me at a boot sale yesterday.   She was going to keep it back for Christmas but decided it was "a bit crap".   Fiver, apparently!

It's a Hong Kong sized-up copy of the Corgi Bentley Continental made by the appropriately-named TAT company who I think were linked to Telsalda.

Well chuffed, especially as I had an identical one as a kid.

I picked up these shelves from the range the other week. Quite suit my Hot Wheels.

Question. Spot on Morris Minor has interior and glass unit whenever I search online (model 289). The version in my possession has neither, but doesn't look to be tampered with either. Can anyone please explain?

Wonder if they were melted out, somehow....given the paint loss?   Having said that, I possess a window-less, but seated, Corgi Driving School A60 with no possible way of having been dismantled to get the glazing unit out -  bearing in mind the roof sign has a column right through to the baseplate.

Factory errors were made - I also had a Matchbox Superkings Scammell 8 wheel crane where the glazing unit was clearly in back-to-front and it came like that in the box.

Oh, and I think the only other car I haven't posted up from my grandparents haul is this one. Staying as is, no restoration planned.

My childhood example is like that - staying that way, too!    These looked as modern on the 60s playground as the real ones did on the road....

It's also possible that the rear end has been off and it was slid out, as that rivet isn't quite right.

My guess with this one is it sat in a field for years. My grandad worked in apple orchards (it is Kent after all) man and boy, and each summer they had a load of pickers in (my mum used to do it) and the kids played in the orchards (I did on occasion). Grandad used to bring home the occasional 'field find'. This might be one as almost all the other models my uncles had are Dinky/Corgi.

I've just totted up how many restos I do have in the queue (the Minor is going to get one as it is such a poor example) and there's 7 to do at the moment. This website is a brilliant job creation scheme :-)

Just don't tot up the price of the parts to do the Minor!   I have one in my "to do" box as well, been buying one part every time I order something else....Bit like the real one, really!

the corgi Rover 2000 is a brilliant model, even today.

still a P6 is in real life i think a beautiful machine. and is one of my favorites. maybe one day i'll get to own one.

this one is mine, its not been restored either, and is undoxed. how the hell its survived like this defies any understanding

and this thread is a gr9t motivator for getting on with the restorations we all have waiting.

i've got the bits for the Bedford TK Transporter (i've even fitted them to the wagon, just to see they fit correctly) now for striping and new paint.

I think I might just buy the front grille and rear bumper and leave the rest....oh and number plates PML 511 I think...

i've only got the one on the go currently, though as its the Bedford and its "a big one" it must be like doing 4 or 5 cars?

One of mine (not started yet) is the Ecurie Ecosse transporter, so that's equivalent to 3...

It appears that the James Bond collection has started again.

From what I can gather its nearly £30 a month for two models...

They do look quite good, and the full collections occasionally come up on ebay from time to time.

Not sure it's worth it, but I'm half tempted.

Do not pai.........oh.  Actually that is a nice colour, looks a similar shade to the Lesney Wolseley 1500.  They should have used it more often.  How much of a cock was it to get the Dinky Dub back together?

Some of the multi-opening Dinkys seem to have been production engineered by the same people that installed BMC heaters.....

Still waiting for my dashboards, but another DeAgostini Riva arrived, waiting for my MR87 Polonez, and a Talbot Alpine 1.6 SX in right hand drive to arrive

The Beetle is probably a captive Spot On. 1/42 scale and its generally undinkyesque setup have long been subject for related debates.

It goes together quite nicely, but the engine lid and bootlid are held close by slightly being clasped by the body, which only really works when everything is painted, such precise are the casting tolerances. Hence the paint must be thoroughly hardened before one commences reassembly to avoid chipping in those areas.

I would love a Spot On Tonibell CA, but mint ones are silly money now, that would buy me lots of partwork shite....

There was a Budgie one too - probably even scarcer and no less dear.   Restored example on Ebay for £35 opener at the mo.

I'm afraid this is my entire Budgie collection.

With the London souvenir set being part of my vast London souvenir set collection.

The M/B Taxi I found for cheap on a boot sale when that still was a thing.

Back then I actually only bought it because I like the box art so much, only to find out later that the Budgie FX4

is actually the best of the bunch.
