More incoming USSR made Politoy copies. A mix of plastic (the Alfa, which is actually really well done, a touch of warp but not too serious), and a diecast Maserati, Lancia and, my favourite, Innocenti AD016, with tilting seats and opening features.

Sadly these have all suffered with bumper loss, but not the end of the world. Some surprising weight to some of them, they are pretty sturdy feeling things.

this isn't it, mine got junked years ago sadly....Think it came with some pre-cut cards, or at least some cutting instructions, then it was down to you to work out a slalom course with the scale* cones.   It was a GT40-ish one like the picture but there was a Chevy Astro-vette or something available as well.  Now and again I see one for not much money and am very tempted but they are a pain to store.

These are excellent, I haven't seen such a thing before. 12/10.

Here's a "Want"

post-4559-0-68540000-1536388165_thumb.jpg

Motor Max Dodge Diplomat in 1/24 scale, ideally in this semi-blank livery.  It's also available in 1/43 which would be nice, but I've only seen that in NYPD blue.  Saying that: I've only seen it on ebay in blue, I've never seen it in the metal at all.

Here's why:

post-4559-0-65893400-1536388573_thumb.jpg

Not the best pic but it's the only one I can find at the moment.  Yes, it means what you think it means.  I had one.  I had the Plymouth Gran Fury but they're essentially the same car.  The differences are slim enough to compare to Austin and Morris Minis.

I've never seen one of these models in the UK at all, they don't seem to be making it beyond the docks at Philly or wherever they are sent from.

If the 1/43 comes in different liveries then it would be nice to have a few, but the 1/24 needs to be as shown, to model my car.  They also need to be cheap!  I'm suffering cashflow issues right now (anyone who's lived on SSP knows about that) so I can't afford retail prices.  I don't care about mint-boxed, as long as the models are whole.

Can anyone help?

^^^ I'll have a hoke in My Old Toy Box in Belfast on Monday - they carry a lot of weird US stuff I've never seen elsewhere, especially police models.

Prices aren't usually too bad for their newish boxed stuff - though you'd need to bring your own scalpel for internal organ extraction should you want any of their Corgi/Dinky/Matchbox stuff!

I've added Stevie Flowers number plates to the Jag 3.4. Finishes it nicely.

Did you separate body from base (drill rivets etc), before spraying it? I have so, so many old british diecast 1:43s to renovate it's a bit ridiculous. I envy those who can crack on and make a decent fist of it.

Thanks, that's really helpful, I find with a normal drill bit you have to swirl it around to get the edges of the rivet out, and that can lead to slight damage of the plate itself or the rivet hole.

I had one of those Plodge Granfifthlomats in white as a hire car in Trumpreich once.

Made me wince and quickly evade the area each time I got a glance of its reflection in a shop window.

I had* to go into town today to photograph a phone box.

It just so happens that le newsagent a few yards away has loads of Hachette stock :)

So I went and had a looksee. Yes they were open :)

Loads of goodies inside, a large range of 1/43 Berleit trucks, loads of campers, a 1/24 104 which would have been bought if it was an LNA.

Looks like Hachette are doing a Mk1 Transit range, which is odd as the Transit isn't that popular in France.

Here's a couple of pics. I would of liked to have taken more but I was getting funny looks...

1/24 Chrysler 180:

And a present for me, a Renault 4 Uruguayan style:

Scored these two this weekend. £1 for the MG was good (although worst paint loss is on the roof), £5 for the A50 was a little over (£3-4 would have been better), but a model I wanted.

Might do a bit of re-chroming, or possibly a full resto on the MG.
