Shite in Miniature II

That's fantastic. Siku stuff does seem to fetch some good money, price will probably go up soon on those.

Has anyone noticed the lack of Matchbox in poundland lately?

Yes, frustrating. They seemed to habe been replaced by some generic 'teamsterz' stuff which even as a young lad I would not have been interested in.

Poundland has those ex Lootcrate Elanors in too. Good value for a quid, sadly my collection doesn't include 1/64 stuff

^^^ True, that. I had to show remarkable fortitude and resist snaffling a few of those there lovely Mustangs from Poundland too... because it's picking up anything that takes my fancy (esp. if v.v.cheap) that unfortunately turned my model collection into a bit of a mess (even if those 1/64 Jada Initial D cars were rather lovely in and of themselves)... I'm trying very hard to restrict myself to 1/43 and 1/76 so they'll fit into the displays!

But you now have a space in your collection (thats how I justify purchases anyway!)

RIP Pilen Fiesta. A victim of compound failure and lack of skill.

A few months ago I filled the hole in the roof and painted it pink. It looked okay, but I never really liked it. Plus you could see the filler in certain lights.

So I stripped it again - a pain this time, since the paint didn't care about caustic soda - and repainted it yellow. After two coats of the yellow, I realised this one was going to look even worse, so it got stripped for a third time. I re-re-filled the hole in the roof and spent ages sanding it until it was flawless. It got the etch primer, then the white primer.

Then it fell on the floor and broke an A-pillar. While trying to flex it a little to close the gap, one of the sills snapped. Realising this was game over I angrily snapped the other one, causing a 3cm laceration on my hand, and threw it in the bin.

I would have got it back out of the bin.

And stamped on the fucker.

Some you lose.....Some don't want to live.

The red Isetta is a new 1/76 from Oxford. It's tiny and rather cute.

I paid a princely 50p for this excellent Smart that originally came out of a Kinder egg! I wish Kinder eggs contained things this good when I was a lad.

This car on the other hand is not smol. Not shite either.

You've just summarised car restoration there.

Got this Dinky 1800 on Sunday for a fiver. Ruined with paint, but complete and sound.

You might notice the headlights are missing. I didn't realise it had separate headlights until after it had been in the paint stripper!

Yeah, very well done that looks spiffing.   (Looks gloomily across to unfinishedstarted die-cast project box).    Love the colour, too.

Steve Flowers does headlamp jewels but these are cheaper....

Lovely.....I, too, have had plastic Citroen in-comage last weekend.   Found in 50p box at a steam rally.....

KDN plastic, approx 1/43.   KDN is the trademark of Kaden, a Czech make.  I think this might possibly be from the run of re-issues in the 1980s rather than a 60s original.   Never mind, I am very pleased.

In other news, some Merc expansion has occurred particularly in the small-scale Fintail department.

Thanks to Frogchod, I now have the HO-scale Norev to complement the EKO, Husky, Lone Star, Lego and the crude little Lima blue thing

Any interest in a HO Pontoon by Wiking, or are you focusing mainly on the Fintails?

Or indeed, anything else in there?

Planning on getting shot of them for cheaps at the next car boot sale I can get to... though may chance my arm online with the Minix.

Kaden used old Politoys and Norev tools, but sadly injected the latter with non warping plastic.

^^^ Yup, HO scale Senator by Wiking. These are all teeny-tiny plastic minishite (other than the Mokes repro trucks).

I'm still hoping to find a 127.

Been looking for ages.

Those repaints look great.

Get yourself some silver sharpies, they are good for detailing wheels and other bits n pieces.
