Babbacombe model village had a few Diecast there last time I looked. 1/18 I think was the scale.

Yes, I am a subscriber on their Farcebook page. I liked when I saw them using the Rastar 1/20 Peugeot 407.

Seems there's lots of us mini tat hunters roaming around Europe at the moment. Found naff all in Oslo, and didn't find anything at my stop in Sweden earlier this afternoon.

Barreled straight through Denmark and onto a 45 minute ferry to Fehmarn (tiny island at the top of Germany). Ferry had nothing to offer but Motor Max Big Rigs

However where I'm staying tonight is right on the main street with half a dozen supermarkets, none of which had much of interest other than a knock-off Lego Barkas

But one of the many surf shops actually had die casts! Joy

Mostly tourist tat but with a fair selection of Sikus and some Majorettes - don't recall these bigger Sikus

It’s a good day out, I liked it more than the kids.

I've got a Rastar 407 but it's about 1/12 or so. Very impressive.

I think I remember you showing it on email if you're ever moving it on. I'll have first dibs?

Tried to buy one a few times, but sellers are either all out of stock, one took money but refunded it soon after with no explanation, I then found out he was also out of stock.

You’d pay less for an actual rough Jaguar Mk10…

As we’ve seen in the hands of someone skilled (not a hamfisted one like me!) could quite easily fake something like that. There’s no talk of any provenance behind it ie coming from someone known to have worked at Lesney in the sixties etc.

Well, he seems pleased with it!

How the other half live etc etc. what’s that old saying - a fool and his money are easily parted.

Just think how many partwork vehicles I could buy and butcher for 1400 quid!😆

* digs out the Dremel and removes "MATCHBOX" SERIES line from the base *

* repaints body original colour, fits donor grey wheels *

* rings up Antoine Calleja, the enthusiastic accountant from Valletta *

* discusses valuations  https://www.toymart.com/Matchbox-28c-Jaguar-MK-10/3154 *

* taunts him for a bit *

* shame then descends, so retire to a dark room to lie down and think about my life choices as I am not an accountant or live on Malta and have failed at life *

So, they are all slightly less portlier than they need to be, which is a surprise.  But the real life 1:1 is a right bloater after all.

Let’s not end up in prison after committing some joke that gets out of hand and ends up at fucking Sothebys for £8,000 to a leading Matchbox collector with their team of litigators.

A bit out the norm but I'm on my hols in Barcelona and found these models from various scenes from Tintin.

I was quite taken by them, but they aren't particularly cheap, being 60€ ish each.

I’ve seen those before, some of them do look really good. I just can’t decide if they’re a bit ‘cartoonish’ or not though.
Admittedly my interest in them was to repaint and turn into a more model like version of a real car! There’s a nice Buick and Jag mk10 I keep eying up.

Tat Friday was cancelled, that's what happened.  And perhaps all the better for it so we can save money for blue Citroens.

I quite like the fact they follow the illustrations - Which are usually really impressively accurate - You can tell Hergè was big into vehicles!
