Shite in Miniature II

Right - I'm afraid I gotta dash, and sadly I've got rather a busy morning and afternoon stacked up, so I may not be able to get back over at lunchtime.

I fear I may have overpaid somewhat, but...

Here's what I came away with, somewhat smarting at handing over £30.

IMG_20230929_0934232.thumb.jpg.46a6df2c1bbaf82dc2bfb6002769bf47.jpg

All are available, if anyone fancies them!

**EDIT: ALL NOW TAKEN!!**

If not, I'll just pop 'em in my ever-increasing Box Of Regret and try not to think too hard about them...

More to come, later - hopefully!

Crikey a borked but £10 Dinky Fury

I will say yes though

Mainly because I spent £25 in pub last night and have nothing to show for it. The regret is comparible

More than that but it was Darts Night and it was packed, with food on

If the Thames Compressor gets nearer a fiver id like it , if only because I was brought home from hospital when born , in a similar Thames Pink Paraffin tanker.

Who makes the other El Camino that's always missing the tailgate? Corgi? Lone Star?

Posted

Yeah Lone Star, with typically missing tailgate and usually in orange

Been after one for a while

Been outbid on on them continuously. For a while.

I think that's Lone Star.

There's an orange one over in the Model Shop in Smithfield, still there the last time I looked... think it might be around the £10 mark too.

Tailgate missing, naturally.

Could I pre-order that please. Just in case, like!

Not terrible, just stealthy.

Your efforts have made us all hot right now.

Had no idea until now that Dinky caravans were different lengths. I just assumed the casting was adapted for the glazed roofing

Neither did I, and I've restored both!100_0330.thumb.JPG.5597cde2854dd56ce4429ec97daf23ab.JPG

You can see them on the right of this photo, early type somewhat hidden behind the later.  Note the windows are smaller on the older one.  Steve Flowers has doors for them, ask me how I know!

I'll see what I can do, next time I'm in the vicinity!

Unlikely to be today, annoyingly.

Oh course, I didn't eat any of it. Pub team is top of the board, landlord gifts a spread to all. Which is a good thing, as will rip community if it closes

Yes please don't jetpack or unibike over there especially

You have a tree house to build first, after all

And by the way: a tenner is way over the odds for those project cars.

115 Plymouth Fury plastic male driver  painted  £3.10
115 Plymouth Fury plastic female passenger painted  £3.10
115/137 Plymouth Fury bonnet  £0.95
115/137 Plymouth Fury white plastic steering wheel  £0.80

Chuck* and Janis* figures were only in the [later] release white colour, so don't need those anyhow

The roof reproduction is also available from MINICIRQUE over the water just outside Rouen.  I might give Marc Mesnil a ring instead as he does reproductions for Majorette / Minialuxe / Norev / Dinky France,  as well.  www.minicircus.com

Or just put it on the shelf and forget about it, like all the others

Yes I found the Capri.

There's also a Matchbox 5 pack I wasn't aware of

I was just about to post that there was two version 137 that came with the roof on (mostly)

37.jpg?width=2073&height=1248&id=80BBC51

and the later 115 that was open top, with figures and twin aerials.

Nicky Toys version is the open one

Yes I was looking at same and was surprised 137 came with or without roof

Much prefer the blue grey...

...over the green as well.  But what were Dinky up to with the die flaw at the front fenders?

Dinky-Toys-137-Plymouth-Fury-Convertible

The Calcutta production under Nicky brand had more colour choices, including figures of Mounish* and Sushmita*

For some reason the one with aerials also was their 137

Dinky 137 produced 1963-66

Dinky 115 produced 1965-69

But look at the two ads - a price jump of 2 Shillings.  Must have been pricey getting Doreen to hand-paint the Chuck* and Janis* figures

We have a lovely* new Smyths in Barrow now, it opened yesterday.  So I dropped in today after visiting the doc and found... want to guess how many Matchbox?

Two five-packs, neither being the one above.  No singles at all.

Smyths are quite crap for Matchbox and usually for mainline Hot Wheels too - ever since Covid my local one seems to be months behind Entertainer.

However they are in my good books this afternoon

Just went to my local ( Milton Keynes) B&M for some cheap Lino, they don’t sell it anymore , but they have a lot of Hotwheels for £1.69 each. Don’t know what happened to this Zakspeed? x-Pack ? Mk2 RS2 but I don’t care, it’s mine now. ( incidentally ended up spending £80 in B&Q for cheap Lino rather than B&Ms £48😕)

More HotWheels fiction. The Zakspeed Capri never raced with Ford Motorsport colours.
