Definitely get a list of your sales stuff up Datsun!

I'm interested too, but at the same time I shouldn't really be buying any more stuff...

The spray tint worked really well on the taxi.

My first attempt at casting parts in resin was a moderate success.  Plasticine for the mould and Gorilla brand two-part epoxy for the resin.  Had a bit of a problem with tiny bubbles and I can't get any filler to stick to the resin to fill the holes.  Other than that, they're an adequate first attempt.  Windscreen attempts are ongoing, they're proving quite difficult to get into the correct shape when I try to make them out of plastic instead of paper.

Still, they're not bad to say I only had one broken rear light to work from.  The only annoying thing is that the red looks like I've painted them badly when in actual fact, on the Mercury that's how it is, with a red top light, a red reflector either side, and a white light underneath with a chrome surround.  I've not blacked the inside of the exhaust tips on the rear bumper either, at least I assume that's what they're supposed to be since the exhaust pipe connects up to them.

^^^ That rear light looks bob on - I'd find it difficult to tell which is the original and which the epoxy replica. Nice work!

Okay then folks, as promised - come one come all, it's the latest instalment of the Datsuncog Discount Diecast Disposal

Pics are utter rubbish, I'm afraid, as after an evening spent demolishing a shed I ended up snapping these under electric light, and my potatocam doesn't like that. If you want better pics of anything, sing out and I'll see what I can do. Still, this might give you a flavour.

First up: smol cars.

These are nearly all from the semi-legendary St.George's Market tat boxes. They cost me 50p each, and I'm selling them for 50p each - but for anyone who's particularly keen, I'll do you twelve for a fiver. How does that sound?

Board A, then: mostly 60s and 70s Lesney.

A1: Ford D Series Bin Lorry, in really quite nice condition - complete and nothing missing. **SOLD!!!**

A2: Mercedes Benz Ambulance - tailgate in place, crack to glazing, paintwork shabby. **SOLD!!!**

A3: Mercedes Benz Unimog, in blue - missing all its tyres (including the spare, weirdly) but otherwise intact. **SOLD!!!**

20190703_015641.thumb.jpg.3a104cc27b9a9d4826af837aa23a6e97.jpg

A4: Mercedes Benz Unimog in glorious beige; missing just the one tyre. **SOLD!!!**

A5: Hendrickson Tractor Unit and trailing bogey (from Matchbox Majors M-9 Interstate Double Freighter set) **SOLD!!!**

20190703_015654.thumb.jpg.4b9a262f7029f74a602c5c6933bf0beb.jpg

A6: Ford GT90, with wobbly axles but otherwise ok.

A7: Blue Shark in fairly good nick

A8: Turbo Fury (Rolamatics), missing the driver and windshield and a fan blade

20190703_015701.thumb.jpg.d04be6b47c420336da2ceaecb938453e.jpg

A10: Dodge Charger III - slight glazing crack, otherwise fairly presentable. **SOLD!!!**

A11: Lotus Super 7, with wonky axles and missing the windscreen.

A12: Hairy Hustler, with some damage to the roof air intake and a glazing crack. **SOLD!!!**

20190703_015716.thumb.jpg.fb974589ebbfa9c7f369a2c237a56ee9.jpg

A13: Blaze Buster, sans ladder I'm afraid. **SOLD!!!**

A14: BMC 1800 Pininfarina, in later guise with the expanded wheelarches.

A15: Red Rider, the 1980s remake of the original Superfast Pi-eyed Piper.

20190703_015723.thumb.jpg.a3a825d63d9a2dd3d0bc89ec49a7e971.jpg

A16: Saab Sonnet III, paint not astounding but bootlid still in place. **SOLD!!!**

A17: Volks-Dragon, with wear to the roof-mount air intake and some gold paint slathered in odd places. **SOLD!!!**

A18: Lamborghini Countach, complete and in reasonable nick. Interestingly, this was only another wild Bertone concept car when the model was made - but a few years later, it was a reality (albeit with more spoilers to keep it on the ground). **SOLD!!!**

And that concludes Board A... there's more to follow.

Board B: Majorette and 1980s/90s Matchbox:

20190703_015311.thumb.jpg.3938224153359ee7019266bdefa4fd82.jpg

B1: Toyota Hi-Ace, with pink wheels. You all remember when cars had pink wheels, right? Course you do. In pretty good nick. **SOLD**!!!

B2: Range Rover Fire Tender, missing its ladder and very dusty but otherwise in nice order.

B3: Ford Econoline in DHL livery; one or two tiny marks but otherwise very near mint. SOLD!!!

20190703_015318.thumb.jpg.3a531aadda8777c6a2d9722ad5357096.jpg

B4: Ford Cargo skip truck, without a skip - but with a front airdam, oddly.

B5: Citroen Visa Chrono, with no bootlid. SOLD!!!

B6: Peugeot 605, with no bonnet (pattern developing here, I fear). SOLD!!!

20190703_015328.thumb.jpg.9aa3e5e7c9ee913c396d2baf3f90e7e8.jpg

B7: Matchbox BMW M1, first release version with tampo print wear but is complete, and has an utterly pointless opening frunk as a bonus,  **SOLD**!!!

B8: Revvin' Rebel (Dukes of Hazzard copyright-baiting Dodge Challenger) with the outer roof shell missing. SOLD!!!

20190703_015338.thumb.jpg.55043f627ed11d5b53b16f577f1e4137.jpg

B10: Hi-Lift Jeep, still with intact windscreen surround and roll cage (uncommon). **SOLD!!!**

B11: Ford Transit in Code 2 UniChem promo livery (and utterly filthy, I'm afraid). **SOLD!!!**

B12: Rover 800 Sterling with broken back window (perfect if you ever fancy making a diorama of THAT abandoned dealership in Swadlincote). **SOLD**!!!

20190703_015354.thumb.jpg.c467cc9be1b27337a363afcefdee9d1f.jpg

B13: Ruff Trek (Holden HZ ute) with part of the 'roo bar and the rear tyre load missing - originally part of a racing set.

B14: Range Rover Police (Rolamatics), filthy late example with blue revolving light and a somewhat dodgy front axle.

B15: Super GT-era Lotus Europa - budget '80s casting based on '70s Lesney original with solid black windows, no opening doors, and plastic base - and not a lot of paint either.

More to come!

Board C - Huskey and Corgi Juniors

20190703_020046.thumb.jpg.141be92ba80ed27f5ec9208daaa522d0.jpg

20190703_020059.thumb.jpg.042929b200155ac83e792f3a7e519d8b.jpg

C1: Huskey Aston Martin DB6, with cracked glass, missing front bumper corner and some 'custom' paintwork. Wheels are nice, though. SOLD!!!

C2: Huskey Bedford TK Skip Truck, also missing skip, boom, glazing, front axle, bumper, and the front part of the base. Otherwise brilliant.

C3: Corgi Whizzwheels Lotus Europa. Engine cover hinges have broken, but the cover's still in place. Not one I'd seen before; better casting than the Lesney version, IMHO.

20190703_020113.thumb.jpg.4d0b73f13ef3877e2f9fd3ca3da66536.jpg

C4: De Tomaso Mangusta, fairly good apart from smashed glazing.

C5: another De Tomaso Mangusta, with awful paintwork but glazing somewhat more intact (small crack, mind)

C6: Corgi Rockets Jensen Interceptor, also with damage to windscreen glazing but still quite lovely. **SOLD!!!**

20190703_020124.thumb.jpg.d8930dbb1f3b341003018b09ba64e3f8.jpg

C7: Corgi Rockets Bertone Carabo, in pretty good condition overall. **SOLD!!!**

C8: Corgi Whizzwheels Ford F150 Camper Van (can you spot what's missing?)

20190703_020132.thumb.jpg.9eaeeb68259269e7d5b9c85bbdc9fd58.jpg

C10: Mercedes Benz A111 Concept2, in reasonable nick. The real one of these had a diesel engine fitted, unusually.

C11: Corgi Growlers Can-Am Racer, in really very good condition. SOLD!!!

C12: Corgi Whizzwheels Mercury Cougar X7 in Fire Chief livery, with red paint blobbed all over it but might repaint nicely. SOLD!!!

20190703_020143.thumb.jpg.b4c6d68b23f05c7f142a8b95f8206280.jpg

C13: Mercedes Coupe; back axle adrift but not too bad otherwise.

C14: Fiat X1/9, reasonably presentable with opening engine cover still where it needs to be.

C15: Mercedes W123 in late-production cheapo poverty spec. **SOLD!!!**

20190703_020153.thumb.jpg.29e4ea87dc46689b05280f2e9a9459e1.jpg

C16: Buick Regal Police Car, with light punched through and rattling around inside (TADTS).

C17: Renault Trafic with missing rear axle; originally would have been in Renault livery (not now, though).

C18: Volvo 760 with one or two minor marks but otherwise very nice. **SOLD**!!!

And finally for this Tat Box selection,  Board D - various odds and sods:

20190703_014724.thumb.jpg.b2b7ada901b9b8204e4121e6891a2f4c.jpg

20190703_014733.thumb.jpg.1de715d806bde955003ea4283f3803d6.jpg

D1: Hot Wheels Chevrolet Vega - recent-ish issue with a few marks but quite nice all the same. **SOLD!!!**

D2: Hot Wheels Peterbilt 3-axle, late 70s/80s Blackwall era... not sure what's meant to be on the back of this, but it ain't there no more. SOLD!!!

D3: Hot Wheels (Generic) Taxi - few chips and the tampo printing is a little rubbed, but still fairly presentable.  **SOLD**!!!

20190703_014744.thumb.jpg.986242ad17e6bfc93685324e125d8b5f.jpg

D4: Dinky Toys Pontiac Trans-Am - one of the notorious Hong Kong Dinkys, fairly playworn but engine detail's not bad. **SOLD!!!***

D5: Dinky Toys Chevrolet Chevette - another from this short-lived range, with highly unlikely 'Turbo' decals and a shonky bootlid that could well have been shonky from the factory. At least someone's loved it, no? SOLD!!!

D6: MotorMax 'Fresh Cherries' Chrysler K-car - bit of an oddity, with a missing headlamp and some paint damage, BUT it's held together by screws so EASY RESTO 4 ENFUSIAST M8.  **SOLD**!!!

20190703_014751.thumb.jpg.cbb32f4d0e945a541a26d5771e26af05.jpg

D7; Welly (?) Toyota Corolla saloon - unusual choice of model but quite crisply detailed; it's utterly filthy but should clean up well and possibly be a nice thing to detail. Wheels are crap, mind. SOLD!!!

D8: Welly (?) Toyota Camry - same as above, though weirdly this looks smaller than the 'Rolla. SOLD!!!

20190703_014759.thumb.jpg.ffb444593dcaae3240c544b541afa319.jpg

D10: Maisto Peugeot 205 GTI - ownership of one of these (and also the 309) is kinda obligatory for those who cherish shite in miniature... some paint wear, but could be good to detail one of these properly. SOLD!!!

D11: Maisto Ford Granada Mk2 - in very nice condition; nab yours now before they all get bangered (just like the real ones). **SOLD**!!!

D12: No-name Buick Riviera - cheapo toy that still manages to exude a bit of charm. Some dings, but again might paint well. SOLD!!!

20190703_014804.thumb.jpg.4f667bad3493fa5021070ef39c27b056.jpg

D13: No-name Chevrolet Caprice police car - as recently profiled, a shockingly crude casting that at least manages to look like a real car - just. So shit it's almost good?

D14: Summer Toys 'Bedford CF' - still rather crude and unconvincing, but paint and stickers still intact on this one. Where's yours? SOLD!!!

D15: No-name 'Bedford CF' - mildly less awful casting than its similar neighbour; Bunglebus has proven these can be smartened up nicely. SOLD!!!

20190703_014815.thumb.jpg.dd9e6da7ba4cda96ba3417fbe1730408.jpg

D16: No-name Ford Econoline - another van horror, although still in very clean condition - any love?

D17: Marx Chevrolet Camaro - I've been trying to sell this one for a while: small 60s Lesney-type scale, and not really the best casting. However, I think the future for this one may involve eBay... ***SOLD!!!***

D18: No-name early '80s Dodge Omni Coupé (as identified by the AS hivemind - there's no make or model stamped anywhere on it). Decent casting of quite a niche, forgotten car. SOLD!!!

Okay! That's the Tat Box stuff - bigger stuff, boxed stuff, and older stuff still to come...

You can't tell which ones the original because they're *both* replicas.  Easier to cast two new ones and 'repair' the mould than try to repair the original.

I really shouldn't, but I'm going to.  From board A I would like 3, 4, 5, 10, 12, 13, 17, and 18 please as they're all ones I don't have.

A rather more appealing prospect might be this Siku Range Rover and horsebox combo, which has cleaned up well:

20190703_020258.thumb.jpg.5417d04e1bde4318170e3eefb33f96e6.jpg

One or two small chips (suspected to have been inflicted while on the stall) but otherwise in cracking shape.

I know this model features in the 1982 Siku catalogue, but then appears in brighter colours by the 1986 catalogue, so let's just say it's roughly 35 years old.

Markey Blokey charged me a fiver for this rig; I'd be happy enough to get my money back, but equally I'm in no particular hurry to let it go.

Brave resto project - or a suitably knackered scrapper to attach on to a recovery truck:

Quite a decent late-model Dinky Toys Austin Mini Moke:

20190703_020515.thumb.jpg.3bc5fa5fafeaf1bad8841335e62599d0.jpg

20190703_020526.thumb.jpg.3774c3cbb77974a56ea679791f58abb0.jpg

Bonnet, windscreen and glazing still in situ, unusually, though steering wheel has gone AWOL. I thought the canvas roof was also missing, but a scurry through the late catalogues featuring these nasty 'speed wheels' shows that not all of them were even supplied with a roof.

Note also that the 'Meccano Ltd' lettering has been burred off this casting, dating it to Dinky's unhappy Airfix-owned era.

Any interest at £2?

Annoyingly incomplete Dinky Toys De Tomaso Mangusta:

20190703_020558.thumb.jpg.1948eadec789f5b91313bdf0f6b255fa.jpg

I bought this because I thought I'd be able to easily get a reproduction bonnet from Steve Flowers or somewhere, and restore this one as its otherwise complete and only held together with screws.

Turns out I thought wrong, with neither Steve Flowers nor anyone else I could find stocking a bonnet for one of these.

Anyone here want to take it on for £2?
