Sadly I'll probably be in the C*rs*, but only because I have sod all else (at the moment) and it'll be a reasonable place to advertise it for sale whilst I'm at it.

Yea got it a week or more ago thanks, just left a message on here. Did you get my paypal money? Forgot to add my name to it

Excellent! I expect you'll be entering it into 'most pristine classic car' (or whatever the fuck it's called) event?

There's a small possibility I may be in something completely random. We'll see.

Now le 604's eBay ad's end is nigh, I'm getting offered all kinds of random and wonderful things. Some of which tempt me greatly.

Yeah, got it fine thanks. I didn't reply to everyone (possibly anyone!) as I was bogged down in e-mails and pm's etc.

Station: not a bad idea that. I might just take it into the judging bit when he calls for cars from the 1990s and start polishing the dust caps or something. Also the bonnet stay thing is dodgy so with any luck if he looks at the engine he'll get twatted on the head by it!

Last three arrived today:

Vivapower

Retrogeezer (for your mate)

Catsinwelder

EDIT:

Warren and Station, just ordered your's so will let you know when they arrive.

That's the lot now so we're maxed out!

I'm hoping to get there via Shardlow, on one full tank of petrol (45 litres).

That would mean the FSO will have to average 18.67 MPG at least...

I'm no so sure :|

Is that not the long way? Would it not be quicker M62 styleee?

Posted

Yeah, it's 50 extra miles but I'm meeting up with Benno in his FSO :D

I will probably go home via the 62 and save petrol, that reminds me, must fix the cigarette lighter in the Polonez so I can plug the sat nav in!

Posted

Just thinking that. M62 then M56 then A49 would be a lot quicker.

Last ones arrived today.

Vivapower: please pm me contact details.

M62 from Huddersfield/Bradford/Leeds - M60 - M62 Warrington-bound - M6 Southbound - M56 Westbound is about 5 miles shorter than going half way round the M60 then joining the start of the M56 and avoiding the M6 altogether ;) .

Lymm meet up like last year?

Im well up for a a Lymm meet much like last year. Time?

Posted

We should aim to be at Chodly at 10 am, we were a bit late last year, we arrived last and ended up at the back...

Posted

I was just coming to post a message about that!

We have to be there for 11.00am and it's definately best to get there handy. Last year was a bit daft as the stewards there didn't seem to have much of a clue so we might need to gatecrash someone else's pitch again!

I'll try and get there for about 08.30-09.00 and I'll pm everyone my mobile number nearer the time. Must repeat reception is dog shit up there though, so would strongly suggest making any plans to meet fellow en route is done well in advance.

Don't forget to say you're with the HBF club as you come through the exit, I think I wrote HBF on everyone's ticket 'just in case'.

Weather is usually fantastic there but obv bring wellies and beige anorak just in case and if you can't find us just look for the biggest bunch of nutters and odd cars and it'll be us.

Oh, there's loads of butty vans there so you won't go hungry or thirsty.

Hows this sound?

If we want to be @ Chumley for 10am google reckons its 45mins from Lymm, so leave Lymm 09:00-9:15 ... So aim for meetup around 08:30?

That sounds like a plan. Count me in!

IS that meeting up at Lymm and then heading to Cholmolondolomondoetc? 8.30 sounds great.

Posted

Yep, 8.30 sounds spot on for a Lymm meeting. I'll inform my travelling partner.....

As we've got digs in Nantwich which is about 5 mins from Chomley I think we'll meet you there. The weather looks promising - keep your fingers crossed.

I think Mr B and Retrogeezer live in that sort of area, DS. Get a convoy sorted!

Posted

DSDriver, M.Bo1, RetroSi, can any of you recommend a suitable/quiet spot for a camper-van (Ma + Pa KJ in the 20 year old Fiat effort), and us in the Lada to stop over night? We'd like to be near Chumley somewhere, perhaps a good place to meet up with Catsint'Welder so he can take these Volvo seats off me before we go in? We'll all sleep in the camper then I think we'll leave it outside, and the four of us go in in the car. (If it makes it that far!)

Maybe we can join your convoy rather than the Lymm group this year?
