Well hopefully that got your attention  I'm new to the forum and as a qualifier I have owned a good hundred plus cars most of 'em firmly in the 'autoshite' category and long may it continue. 8)

I'm in North London and can't wait to move :lol::lol::lol:

I'm into old cars and have a 1967 Triumph 1300FWD and a 1975 Daf 46. The quest for something interesting and a bit different never really fades away, so here is the task:

Anyone got something that would fit the 'interesting and unusual' category up for grabs? Not too lardy as I only have a council lock up and no OS parking (London don't forget). Maximum of 1300cc perhaps. A bit of a fixed budget is a limiting factor, say £500. Older the better. Gotta say no to Saxo's, Corsa's, AX's please as they are waaaaay to modern for moi.

Some ticket and a bit of rent on the car would be handy as getting back under your own steam without having to resort to the GreenRACAA is always a real positive as is being able to park it on Her Maj's highway. Open to suggestions (only slightly abusive one's if you please :lol: )

Happy to travel a bit of a distance but not to the outer edges of the universe ie; Dorset/Scotland. A tall order? Maybe, maybe not.

Cheers Folks.

Any chance of pics?

A Michelotti fan then? Not the first person I've known with a Triumph 1300 and a DAF. Welcome!

Welcome to the site mate. I saw in the other thread you mentioned that you used to have an early 820e, got any pics of that? :D

An autoelectrician with 6 years experience then? Not the first person I've known with a Triumph 1300 and a DAF. Welcome!

Welcome! Triumph 1300? Daf 46? Make yourself comfy and consider yourself at home.

Could do worse than the Toyota Tercel that Billy posted on the eBay tat thread:

First choice 4x4 for the shiter...

Bit ugly in an interesting way? Tick.

Rare? Tick.

T & T? Tick.

In budget? Tick so far with 4 days to go.

You know it makes sense.

It's a shame you only want a small engined car as Retro80boy's Cavalier (a 1.8) would be a damned good bet and is well within your budget.

That Tercel was really different but looks like it is climbing out of my price range. The Polo is cool though. Had some piccies of a Dolomite 1500 square headlighter sent to me today. Looks kind of interesting and cheap, also quite rare now too. Very cheap indeed (did I mention that  Always a bonus in my book. I have nothing against bigger cc's but the thought of giving £200 plus to pay for a bit of round paper just makes me angry. I nearly bought a minter Mk1 Astra last year but for a 1600cc car the rent was £215!!!! No way.

I will post some pics of what I have already asap.

Cheers

Hi Ken

Welcome over to the Dark Side from a fellow FWD-er

How about my Mazda 323 GT? It's a 1.5 so is cheaper tax bracket. Wants a bit of fettling but taxed and tested (I'll put another year MOT on as it's nearly due). Should get you back down south OK!

Very rare, handles lovely, quite quick. It does smoke a bit and could do with the carbs tweaking properly. It could be used daily as is but I'd prefer it to be on a bit better form before doing that if I'm honest. But it's solid enough to be a nice light, rolling project that you could one day treat to the works.

More pics here (I've blathered a bit more rustproofing around the arches since)

Applies to anyone interested by the way........ :P
