I think swmbo could have done with some of that stuff this morning on the bus she was driving. She hit a patch of black ice and had a bit of a bump

Well this is what they state:

Improves traction on tire treads up to 300% on slippery wet surfaces, black ice, sleet, and snowy roads, stated by the Norwegian State Technological Institute.

I know from a decent understanding of mathematics and physics that an extra 300% of fuck all grip whatsoever = fuck all grip whatsoever

Smoke and mirrors. I wouldn't put ANYTHING at all on the tread of my tyres, they're surely designed for maximum grip in most normal conditions. Surely having this stuff on your tyres would also increase friction, and therefore wear and fuel consumption. That's if it actually does anything.

Plus that's what winter tyres are designed for...

I wonder if that stuff would improve traction down the old drag strip?????

A year ago, almost to the day, I threw some sand on the floor, drop of petrol, lit it, rolled up my trouser legs and danced a quick jig in it, did seem to reduce how often I slipped onto my arse. Wonder if something similar would work on tyres, maybe take them off the car before rolling through the flames.
