Very quick update Mondeo - still providing great service. Still not polished the headlights or changed the fluid in the powershite box. I clearly like to live dangerously. Honda - Its a Honda, so absolutely nothing to report. I'm a tad worried about the high bite point, but its been like that forever. Not sure why I'm stressing about it. A car has been purchased. Well a deposit has been put down. I will be going on a cross country trip in a couple of weeks to get it. Its Mrs Cookie's birthday in a couple of weeks and as I have failed miserably to build the fire 🔥 pit she wanted, thought I'd better get her a motor instead.

Mondeo went in for MOT today. Bunged it in a month early. Passed - Thankfully.

Mondy had a service today - Oil and Oil / Air / Fuel filters. Plus brake check. 168 inc vat. Pretty happy and the car does drive a little better, so the oil change has done it good.

My budget is also skinflint. 4k is out of budget. There is one in Portishead on the club classifieds. I use to work with the current owner. Loads of work done but smoky engine, which scares me.

Fleet wise, not a lot happening. Mondeo is off for oil and filters on Friday. Honda keeps Hondering. Mrs Cookie got very upset that I didn't buy the Austin 1300 ADO16 that was for sale. I didn't expect her to like it. Now I spend a lot of time perusing classifieds to find one in budget. Budget is not big enough lol

I understand. Not thinking of buying for investment. Mrs Cookie loves the MG zeds, more than any other car. This would be to make her happy. In my head I'm 1k to 1.2k. If its bloody immaculate and the clutch / gearbox ok, I could go a bit more. To any enthusiast its worthless and always will be.

I would pay 1200. Maybe 1400 but it would have to be bloody amazing in the metal. Looks like its got factory zenons, so at least one box got ticked. Suspension arms were replaced, straight after the mot.

So R75 fans. This car ticks all boxes for Mrs Cookie. But I'm struggling to come up with a price to offer. I've spoken to seller, most of what he says in advert checks out. Rather worried its a manual, but car seems to have been very well looked after. Just can't bring myself to pay 2k for it.
