  1. Don't forget Parrots welding prowess if you don't like the quote
  2. Not bad MOT history too. Hope the coolant leak is not too worrying. Weird I'm more excited about an MPV than an MGF. Had both. I prefer the Galaxy.
  3. Went in the mk4 mondeo too. Unless Ford developed a whole new 2.3 that no one wanted.
  4. My Sister had one of those. Terrible on fuel but brilliant fun and rather quick
  5. I salute you. Thats an epic task with great progress.
  6. Shes not looked at enough to form a firm opinion, but is leaning to fiesta / focus sized car.
  7. Car shopping - first impressions Little Cookie has looked at the following and given her verdict. Mk4 Mondeo Estate Powershift - she liked it as it was in black and therefore looks like a hearse (She is a gothling, takes after her goth mum). Seats comfy but too big for her first car. I wasn't expecting her to be that sensible ! Corsa C with the Robot box - she really liked it - I was surprised but there is hope she might be a closet autoshiter. Mk2.5 Focus Estate normal auto - liked it. Liked the seats, but worried its still too big. Mazda 3 (Mk2 focus in a frock) - liked a lot, but not as much as the Corsa. Zafira B - liked the elevated seat, but doesn't like not seeing end of bonnet (but agrees with more practice and experience may not be an issue). Plenty more for me to find, before a choice is made. Fusion / Fiesta / Corsa D / Meriva / Polo / Golf to be found next.
  8. @2flags Thats value. Mini Cookie is a painter and decorator. Boot space at a premium. Found a Fiesta, Fusion and a Focus locally, that work permitting I can see early in the week. Small autos don't seem to hang around.
  9. Thanks That's local (ish) to me. But needs too much investigation and fix to get it running.
  10. Whats the key or twisty knob thing in the offside wing, just behind indicator?
  11. @gm I suspect the answer will be no, but I will enquire, when she gets in from work
  12. Blimey forgot to give an update. The mondy had both its front wheel bearings changed. Made fuck all difference. Still have minute steering wheel shake - shake is an exaggeration- but it still bugs me. And can still hear a rotational sound that also bugs me. Beginning to think its the tyres. Plus mini Cookie step daughter is now learning to drive. She does not get on with a Spanish box, so will be taking a badermatic test. Sadly she thinks the Mondy is too big for her, while learning, so I am now finding out just how expensive small autos are. Mrs Cookie and I are still in discussion about whether one of our cars has to go to make way for small auto, or we suck it up and add to the fleet, at least till Poppy has passed her test.
  13. You lucky lucky lucky lucky lucky lucky lucky bastard Top motor.
  14. Sticks like shit Does exactly what it says on the tube
  15. Tell your good lady to drive faster. We are all waiting for the reveal.
  16. I know you are a little disappointed, but you won't lose your shirt on this. The interior is mint and the rust does not look terminal. I don't think you would have a problem recouping a fair chunk of what you spent. Maybe all of it.
  17. Well thats a result. I wouldn't say nutter. You just like looking after your motors. He was the same. Kindred spirits.
  18. Thats a beautiful motor. Well swapped.
  19. Are you replacing with normal bolts? My mondeo locking key split, when the front bearings were being done. Had to have all 4 of them drilled out.
  20. I no longer trust a single marque specialist, following a terrible time with a Disco 3. They had 50+ Google reviews, all positive. Will now only trust a garage, that is new to me, if someone I know has used them and confirms they are good.
