-That's really sweet, how long did this take?

How does this differ from an XR3i ?

Posted

It took about 3yrs to do as the car was totally knackered rust everywhere the differences over a XR3i are different front and rear spoilers, front suspension has a twin anti roll bar set up,cylinder head is worked on different cam solid lifters bigger ports etc, twin coil ignition, different gear ratio's, front grill and interior changes

The main daily driver, not shite yet but a comfortable old thing, amazingly refined.

And our scrappage special, Mrs Carlo's new Panda diesel. Very impressed with it, has a bit of a Renault 4 feel to me.

No change for me either - same ole same ole!

But a beaut nonetheless. Currently hoping that occasional 'clacking' noise the engine has started intermittently doing doesn't mean expense and doom!

Good to see the old girl is still looking very tidy Chris, looks like you have re-done the wheels too?

Whereabouts is the 'clacking' coming from?? Have you changed the oil yet? Even if it's just the £5 stuff from Wilko's it will be worth it.

Here are a couple of arty, nightime ones the bluey, I'll take some more the next time it's clean!

My 323 Javelin had that clacking noise, I traced it to a little flap inside the air filter housing, it acts as a very simple sort of passive valve, that is opened by air passing through it as the carb sucks it in, with the "clacking" taking place as acceleration was eased off and it wasn`t sure whether to be open or closed. For whatever eason, maybe it had come slightly loose or whatever, it became slightly noisy. It was totally harmless and I did not need to do anything to remedy it, and did 20,000 trouble free miles before selling the car in perfect working order. So hopefully it`s just that!

I like a good 323, had quite a few of them, including the almost-double of yours:
