Saab C900 LPT 5 door £1200

I thought this was going to be a keeper for me but unfortunately I'm having to raise money to get married which means sacrifices are necessary!

I bought it last year off a gentleman in Carlisle who had had it for some years and looked after it well. It comes with a dossier full of receipts detailing thousands of pounds of expenditure he has spent on it over the years. Most recent big job was a new clutch and slave cylinder but it's had all kinds done.

It drives very well and despite being the low pressure turbo is pretty punchy (145bhp) and in real terms I don't think it is slower than the 8 valve full pressure turbo I had previously although the power delivery is more linear.

Interior is black leather and its a good honest car. The red paint is of course faded and the bodywork does have the odd blemish but I would say its above average for an elderly C900. It has a good Sony CD head unit and a new MOT with no advisories. I'm going to be dead sad to see it go and I suspect I'm doing the same trick I did with all my 2cvs and Dyanes; selling up just before the prices rise so I can't afford another!

I'm sorry that the photos are uber shite, I'll take some with a proper camera after I've washed the car later in the week. Also note that the car comes with two sets of alloys, for extra shite points you will see it is currently running a mixed set...

That is FAPworthy, sir.  Take my wallet, please.  Unfortunately, there's very little in it.

As you were.  GLTWS, etc.

That looks a good buy for someone - superb cars. And the LPT is reputedly the most fuel efficient of the lot. I think prices are firming.

PS can't you put off the nuptials then cash in when it's worth a bit more?

forddeliveryboy I've never got under 30mpg which is bloody good for one of these; I could get the 8 valve to under 20! I wish I could hold onto it for a bit however there's the small matter of a diamond ring I put on my credit card...

Oh well, congrats anyway! Hope the car finds an appreciative owner. I was surprised to see how firm the prices were last time I was browsing a few weeks ago.

I know it's a long shot, but if you still have this for sale in a month or so, I may have to have it off you. I just need to get this SportKa MOT'd and punted on, plus I go back to full time work next week so will have a few extra quid to spare next month...

Although I can't see it hanging around that long!

TBH I think you are. Think carefully.

I'm currently in the market for a stopgap car & I went to look at this handsome beast last night. I've decided it's not quite right for what I need at the moment, but it's definitely a good car & I figured I'd share my thoughts on it.

Underneath is solid where it counts, engine is smooth & quiet. Gearbox doesn't whine or crunch or anything like that.

Performance is brisk & rides with high levels of accomplishment on potholed roads and motorways. No creaks, knocks or bangs at all.

Externally, it wears it's miles with pride! It's pogweaseled & has a few blebs here & there but most importantly it's very straight and original.

Finally, Jonathan is one of the nicest chaps you could wish to meet. A proper gent.

Cheers

I'm giving this a bump. I had managed to move some debt around to delay the inevitable (and it has been earning its keep while the fiancée's Ka is being it's problematic self) but now as I get to the point where I have to get the money together for our honeymoon this should really go. Any interest before I put it on Car and Classic?
