Welcome to the club! :D

Leicester reg, so it's a bit far from home!

Unsurprised to see that the paint has done the standard Rover clear-coat thing; my 1994 R8's roof looked a lot like that at only eight years old, which was one of many reasons why I weighed it in after I bought The Volvo.

looks alright Dunc

auto too

at least it will get you home :D

Sure hope so Mike...I was ecstatic when I realised it was Honda powered.....

So A Leicester car, bought in Devon heading for Scotland....was owned by the stereotypical old woman who at 92 was forced to give up driving, it is very smooth driving as well, good tyres, 11 months test and 6 months rent, there was a choice of cars as well... this or a 95 BMW 318....both Lol and myself said it's gotta be the giffermatic granny car, just to go with Granny_Bol's Fiesta :lol: Mind you that's the holiday money well and truly spent now......now all I need is a cheap T-shirt with "I've been to Devon and all I got was this old car"

Posted

The roof on my 405 is bleached like that, not going to weigh it in though.

Honda engine isn't necessarily a good thing, they are thirsty for their size and the D16 can suffer from head troubles.

What trim level is it, SLi?

Posted

I rang you last week to see if you wanted the primera uber cheap, cos I'll be getting shot soon, but you've obviously got yourself sorted !! looks sheer class :)

Posted

it is indeed an SLi....Now you've set me worrying that the engine might go pop  I always thought everybody raved about the enines on here...or am I getting old and forgetful?

Posted

/\ /\ Did You? bugger, mind I would have needed you to deliver it to Devon, what you trying to get for it? as I know a couple of people looking for cheap chod at the minute.

Posted

Im bored of it but I'd feel guilty scrapping it when its so tidy - 250 delivered? ( well to edinburgh so i can get a train home) Its got test til I think may and is MINTED with 70k on it and fsh, but its needing a front downpipe and a set of rear pads.

I Could even bring yer bumpers down from Tayne! ( he lives almost directly opposite me).

Need it til the end of month tho.

Posted

I wouldn't worry about the engine going pop, just sticking up for the maligned K series which is just as reliable in 1.4 form.

Keep a spare distributor in the boot too.

Posted

Get a dizzy pronto, and a PGM relay (I think) you listen for the relay clicks when you turn the key, they do and fail without warning. I can vouch for this

I wouldn't have thought twice about buying that beautifully shite ride. Well done :D

Thanks for the support gentlemen, it's appreciated.....now I can just worry about exploding dizzies :shock::lol::lol: hopefully the old girl will get me the 400+ miles home at the weekend.......I was thinking about washing it today.....good idea or bad?

Posted

Get some oil too. Honda D's OM NOM NOM lots of oil. Check the colour of the coolant too, rusty brown seems de rigeur on old examples.

Well she got us home no problems at all, very smooth and quiet :D 423 miles @40mpg = happiness, did have a scare with a pile up at J13 on the M6, lots of smoking tyres  anyway I should have the P100 back together this week and if not I need another pick up or van for daily use, so the Giffermatic is up for sale if any one is interested :?: looking for around £25 ish with the Tax.

also does any one have a van or Pick up for sale?

GIVE U £10 COLECT 2NITE M8

Probably got this completely wrong, but isn't one of our number after a cheap car in Scotland to get back dahn sarf in?

Posted

At that price, I'm sorely tempted to ask you to hold it for me until we fly over.... unfortunately we haven't yet decided if that's going to happen. If it only lasted until the Mobility Picasso arrived, it would have done its job...

No, don't mind me, flog it on, someone will snap it up here. Are you sure you posted that price correctly?

Posted

Feck...i'm an idiot... was meant to read £325 ono but that's what happens when you get old and stupid,. I'll take £250 without the tax...might even throw the tax in for the right buyer

Funny you should say that sir, step this way... (points at my signature)

Not entirely sure you'd fancy the drive back, but you did ask....
