Shite dealers

I found this garage business in a back street within the truly hideous Somerset town Bridgwater a couple of days ago, still proudly displaying the 'Reliant' and 'Yugo' dealers signage, and what could be the last remaining Yugo van still in commercial use! Enjoy.......

Thats great, Is the GT a customers car? It would be cool to think they were still servicing those marques regularly for customers!

Bridgwater is shit isn't it? Drove through it last year as a detour off the M5 and wished I hadn't.

That's quite a sighting.if that middle picture was at a slightly different angle it would have made a tidy avatar for one of our Scottish contributors.

That's great! I'm always on the look-out for places like this, got a group on Flickr for similar photos: http://www.flickr.com/groups/1261441@N23/

I think the John Childs garage down in Kent where my Laurel got traded-in still has its old Dacia and Yugo signs evident, so it seems from Streetview. I'd love to get photos of that one day.

Those pics could be over a decade (or 2) old if that ****** Micra wasn't in the first shot

That's quite a find. Our local-ish ex Rover dealer still has a Flying Arsehole sign above the side door.

Bridgewater - niiiiiice. The home of British Smellophane, and an utter shithole.

There is/was a niteklub called The Palace there which was once a cinema. I once shagged a bird in there who got bollocked by her mate as we alighted from the Ladies in the cordoned off upper floor. Her mate approached me about an hour later, and I took her back home and did a more thorough job.

Classy ladies. Classy me. Classy Bridgewater!

ohn Childs garage is a couple of miles away from me,i will see what i can do. Plus i know John Childs pretty well (40 + years) so he may still have some spares stashed away.

Brian.

I'd love to see/hear more about that place. I rang him not so long ago, he kindly sent me the original V5 which he'd still held onto for my Laurel. He told me keeps some interesting old things for himself (Land Rovers and Merc's seemed to be his fondness) and wouldn't take part in the scrappage scheme despite selling new Peroduas.

Fantastic stuff. Love the sign on the door of the Yugo, definitely an oxymoron!
