Just entered the Jag's details. 157k miles, full service history etc.

Their idea of a reasonable quote?

We have all the information we need about your

vehicle. Your guide price is between:

£0 - £0 †*

If you would like to sell us your car then please book an appointment...

That's not including the £50 fee, so, in effect, it's going to cost you £££ to get them to take it.

tell you what, I'll swap for the Scrote, I'm doin' you a favour guvnaaaaaah....

WWAC is a business that exists to make money and they don't even want your car. Not suprising they offer f**k all really...

If this is the one I think it is, they have a particularly irritating "knock-off" radio advert with parpy car horns and suchlike.

Posted

The knock off name and ad campaign is the most offensive thing about wewantanycar.

I put my name in as FUCKYOUWEBUYANYCAR (note deliberate mistake) and booked an appointment tomorrow and on Monday for them to view my £200 invisible car - a 'shit brown' Porsche 911 estate with five doors and roof and bonnet damaged because I drove over some black people.

They should be called wegiveyouafractionofthevalueofanycar(andthenwescrapthefucker!). Not as catchy, I know.

mate has just got rid of a 53 plate vauxhall signum, 125k on the clock and a few battle scars - had timing chains and new brakes recently.

Webuyanycar gave him £600. He could have sold it for more on fleabay.

Unfortunately, so many people are up to their necks in the brown stuff there will always be an opening for companies such as these.

Hmm, they've offered me a drink on the Jag. Might do if I get desperate I suppose.

*Edit: 'Please ensure that the fuel light dashboard indicator is not lit'. Cheeky twats.

UPDATE:

They phoned me today, I was driving, and couldn't take the call. left a voicemail, asking if I wanted to proceed with the sale, ans to call them back to make an appointment.

Yeah, like that'll happen.

I thought they were ok when I wanted to get shot of my Rover 75. I was happy with the offer I got on their website and flogged it to them a couple of days later. They are what they are, I didn't want the hassle shifting it myself and just wanted a quick sale.

They DON'T buy ANY car, either! A few months ago I asked them what they'd offer for both my Skoda Fun or my Wartburg; both cars were totally street legal with tax & MOT. They'd never heard of the Fun and informed me that "it's some kind of weird import, isn't it?" So much for their accuracy; the Fun was a normal imported Skoda, sold through dealers in the normal way. The Wartburg had them flabbergasted! Not only had they never heard of it, but the manager said they were never sold in the UK. Strange comment for a company who profess to buy ANY car.....

They'll just run on DVLA data, is your car actually registered as a Skoda Fun? It might be on the V5 as a pick up or something.

So we should take the bloody bulb out then! :D

I put the details of my wife's terminally rotten Volvo 440 for a laugh - their quote? £40 less £50 'admin' fee. So i would have to deliver it to them, give them £9.99 and get the bus home? No thanks. It went to scrapman for £125, and i kept the cat, new radiator, bulbs, headlamps, and pumped out 10 litres of unleaded out of it. Plus the scrapman came to my house to take it away so no BFH required. Also put my dad's 05 plate Focus TDCi into their system to see what they would quote him. £800. I can't believe anyone would bother going to any of these firms. Madness!

Truly, utterly deranged.

The Jag was worth nought pounds. Someone else's car was worth minus 15 quid.

Another made a remark about their car being involved in a collision with black people. Now, whilst remaining well within the realms of political correctness, it seems - perhaps - wewantanyslag.com may be run by those of Asian or African descent.

Witness what happened when I entered the details of my BMW into their system. I gave the correct age and milage. Described the condition as below average and disclosed the rusty wheelarches. I consider the car to be worth 600 ish part ex maybe 7 if pushing hard.

In their universe it should be valued at nought pounds. However they claimed to offer 370! Who else would want a tatty black BMW?

I even specified that I would take ALL of the cocaine out of the glove compartment before handing over the keys.

They offered £130 for my Alfetta GTV6, excluding the admin fee. Fortunately I wasn't in a rush and sold it 6 months later for £7,995.

They're like loan sharks, praying on the (financially) weak. Occasionally they seem to make a fair offer on the odd car but I suspect that's only for stuff they've already sold to someone else. Other forums note they ALWAYS pick holes on the description and bargain for more money off the offer price. I'd only sell a car to them if it was filled with Semtex and a timer.

Posted

^^^^ They've obviously got noo clue, or are very clever.

WeBuyAnyCar offered me £300 for the Escort, and I thought that was a piss take....

Posted

£0 for the full service history, maintained money no object, ex Jag owners club lunatic owner Jag,

£370 for the (ex taxi, Cat C write off, no service history) Mondeo.

£0 for the full service history, maintained expensively and pretty much immaculate, Jeep.

Couldn't do the 604 as the search engine got all confused and asked if it is a Bipper.
